Great Rotary vise for the money
This is a very nice rotary vise once you get it set up, which is not difficult. I have been tying flies for over fifty years and have tied on practically every vise available. I have tied professionally for many of those years and this vise can do anything you need it to do. It holds hooks extremely well and the rotary function is very smooth after properly lubricating the vise. It comes in a very nice hard plastic case, which everything packs neatly in it, which makes it very easy to travel with. If you are looking for a rotary vise, I would urge you to look at this one and compare it against other rotaries, and compare the price as well.Tight Lines.

This vise is awesome and quite possibly the last vise I will ever ...
I was doing lots of research looking for a new fly tying vise. I narrowed it down to 3, and finally chose the Montana Mongoose! This vise is awesome and quite possibly the last vise I will ever have to buy. I was able to get everything set up quickly and fine tuned it within minutes! I love the smoothness of the rotary head, and the hook clamp is rock solid. The kit comes complete with most everything one would need to tie flies (I tie saltwater flies). If anything, the one thing that I would change is to have a slightly bigger pedestal base, that's about it! I highly recommend this vise!

Great hook holding ability
I bought this vise during the pandemic after tying on the same Regal Inex for over thirty years. I was wanting a rotary vise for tying flies while using UV cured finishes as well as all around tying. I was very surprised by the hook holding power of the small jaws and the ease of operation and adjustment. I had not adjusted jaws since I bought the Regal all those years ago. The vise is fine and the only drawback I find is tying small flies in 16 and smaller. The way the jaws are oriented in relationship to the rest of the vise makes it difficult for me to tie material on to the hook, especially the small flies. There is a little slop in the mechanism of the vise that is more irritation than inconvenience. Overall a nice vise, more nimble hands may not have the trouble I am having.

Very versatile
This vise is the perfect size for all your tying needs. It gives you all the extra tools at a reasonable price. It’s also great for someone with disabilities. I’ve had injuries to my hands causing some nerve damage it always me to get the thread around the fly and easy reach for my bobbin. It’s definitely sturdy. Some of the veterans that have been tying for years always comment on how much they love this vise, and it’s cheaper than other vise options.

Excellent step up from the vise you get in the beginners box!
When I was younger I tried to tie flies and gave up, thinking I was just not good at it. Over COVID like many others I took it back up. It wasn't that I wasn't good, I was just inexperienced. Now that you can look up how to tie any fly online anyone can do it with some practice. However, you really do need something more than the vise from the beginners box. This vise really did make a difference. I have tied flies from Large Streamers on #4 hooks, down to #22 scuds. No problem. Love the Rotary arm. The right vise can really help you take your tying to the next level.

Great buy!
Huge upgrade from my $25 vice. Vice has held the small dry fly lure hooks as well as the larger saltwater hooks with no problem. Easy to adjust, easy to set up. Loved that I could open the case and start tying in seconds.

Very functional
This is my 3rd vice to purchase. I wish that I'd purchased this one first off. I'm sure there are better vices out there, but not in this price range. It's a very stable vice. I've only been tying for about 3 yrs so I'm no expert by any means. I like the portability of this vice as well with the case that came with it. Tying flies isn't a cheap hobby, but you know what they say you get what you pay for. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I do recommend this vice....

not impressed
Vice came with a broken thumb screw on the rotary adjustment. I had high hopes for this vice, but unfortunately, I never got to use it. Too many plastic parts just waiting to break. Bought a Renzitti vice instead.
