What do i solder to adjust from 500 to 1000 mAh?

The max charge rate of the USB charger is about 1000 mA. To achieve this charge rate, you can either solder a 2.0K resistor on top of R4 (default 2K) - this will make the total parallel resistance 1.0K or you can remove R4 by desoldering it or cutting the trace to it and solder a 1.0K resistor in its place.

The max charge rate of the USB/DC charger is about 1200 mA. To achieve this charge rate, you should solder a wire (short) on top of RPROG (default 4.7K). You can also change the rate to a different value by either soldering a resistor on top of RPROG (and calculating the parallel resistance) or removing the resistor and soldering a different one in its place. See the schematic for what values result in what charge rates.

Important Note! Never charge a battery faster than 1C (so a 1300mAh battery should be charged at under 1300 mA) and we suggest staying at or below 0.5C Check the datasheet of the battery for more information about your cell

Question 2

On the board there are solder points for a dc in, does this mean i can connect another method of charging to the board such as qi charging?

Yes, one would use the USB port for the charger to plug in, the port labled 'BATT' would connect to the battery needing charging and the port labled 'LOAD' connects to the device needing to be powered.

What is the STR 2-1 input for?

Did you mean STAT 2  1  ?
These stands for the two Charge Status outputs.

Question 4

Will this work with a 3.7volt 2000mAh 7.4Wh Li-ion battery?

Accepted Answer

Yes it will definitely work.  I've used this with an Adafruit 1500mAh, 2000mAh, and 2500mAh single cell Li-ion battery with no problems.  It takes a long time to charge but that's to be expected.  Yellow LED indicates charging, Green LED indicates your battery is fully conditioned and charged properly.  Use this with multi-cell 18650's at your own risk, it's not recommended because there is no balance charge circuit for multiple cells.  It's specifically designed for Adafruit's single cell Li-ion batteries.
