Easily the most accurate liquid pH test kit I've used. Colors are easier to read than API and the reagent doesn't stain as easily. Test tube is wonderful - you'll find yourself more excited about that than the actual testing.Bonus: Reads a much lower and much higher point than API or other options on the market. This is especially handy for keeping dwarf freshwater shrimp.

I like this test for ease of use, and I trust that Sera is one of the better producers for our hobby. The results are easy enough to read, but the problem comes in when you try to compare the test tube color with the chart. This is of course a problem with other liquid test kits also.

Accepted pH level in a basic, fish only saltwater system is between 7.6 and 8.4, but reef tanks are more sensitive, and need to be kept at the higher end of the pH scale, 8.0 to 8.4. This test kit has increments of .5 on the color reference chart. . Factors like lighting and opacity of the print chart vs and the translucent liquid in the vile means the human eye is also not sensitive enough to discern accurately between color on this chart and the color of the liquid. Meaning a reading of 8 could easy be as far as 1 or more pH off in ether direction. I bought this kit but will not use it with my reef tank.
