I think the product may have been old because it was darker than any other I have used of the same description.

I bought this for my sister since the cost was so much less than she was paying in the store. I color her hair with it every 3 weeks, so the savings adds up! I just wish they offered my color as well.

I lost most of my hair about a year ago and the hair that's grown in is coarse, white and impossible to color. I went twice to the salon but at $130 a trip it was way above my budget. I've tried several different products but the roots would only be slightly tinted by the color and would be back to white within a week or two.I used the precolor treatment and then just colored as I normally would, After 25 minutes I rinsed the hair and applied the conditioner that was included. My hair is soft and shiny and the color is even from ends to roots. I have shoulder length hair that's layered and there was just enough of everything to do my hair. There was no burning, itching or unpleasant odors. I am extremely happy with the product and glad that I bought two!!

This product covered gray more that others. Plus it's a shiny color. Make sure you read the directions before you start mixing: there's stuff to put on so that gray is covered first, the two coloring agents, and the really terrific conditioner that goes on at the end after rinsing. It didn't seem to have a ghastly smell. I will buy this again.

I fall into that resistant gray category and this product does a great job of covering. Love it.
