Adds huge versatility to your Hue range - control more of your home remotely & through the app
Interesting and very handy addition to our by now wide range of Hue lamps. This smart plug allows you to virtually connect any lamp, or electric device, to your wifi-driven Hue set up.The smart plug is very easy to install if you are familiar with the Hue app. You can just search for the plug in the 'light set up' section in Hue Settings after you have turned its power on. Following that you can add it to rooms and/or routines. The smart plug makes your home and electric devices very versatile. In theory you can connect your coffee maker (so that you'll have fresh coffee in the morning), or tv (to avoid the children turning it on e outside of certain hours) or maybe even chargers (so that they don't constantly charge decides) to it. Or if you active the 'home away' function in the app you can turn your home to life remotely.I'm a big fan fo the Hue range, the lamps and devices are generally of good quality. I've had my first Hue lamps for or 3 years now and despite being on for a good part of the day I never had to replace them. So its generally good value for money.I'm slightly less enthused about the app, its straightforward and generally intuitive, but handling lamps, rooms, routines that all relate to each other it a bit confusing at times. But would still highly recommend it to any homeowner.

The official version, more reliable, easier to pair 13 amps
I'm an avid hue user and have been waiting for these for ages.I have maybe 15 of the non Philips ones, they work, they are much harder to pair and less reliable, but they work. They are also limited to 5 ampsThe official version pairs straight away, is recognised instantly as what it is, you can use it to make any light smart. Being 13 amps you can set it up on anything, if it's plugged in, this means hue can control it. Want to boil a kettle from your bed you can with thisDon't waste your money on the alternatives, these are only slightly more, i just wish they did a giant multipack because once you have them, you almost end up thinking of things you can do with them. Just to give you an example, hue now not only controls lights that aren't hue, but switches on my electric under floor heating in the bathroom and kitchen and runs the secondary hot water pump.Nice things would be for them to be able to monitor the power going through the plugs, but these are revolutionary

Perfect for my garage light
I bought this as I already had the Phillips hue system within my house, and garden, and I was fed up with having to switch my light on manually when coming home in the dark when parking my car in the garage. This plug did just the job, it integrated into my existing system, and I could control it in exactly the same way I could my lights. I am very pleased with it. As it talks through the nearby hue lights in the garden, it doesn't have to have a direct signal from the router into the garage, which is great as otherwise it wouldn't have worked. I did try an alternative brand first, which failed to do the job as it couldn't reach the wifi network - but where that one failed the Phillips hue plug worked magnificently. Would highly recommend.

Not as smart as some but it works
It was easy to set up once I had remembered how to name everything in Hue and Alexa. I’ve given this 4 stars as while it turns off and on using the home assistant that’s pretty much it. In addition there is an audible ‘click’ when it turns on and off. It’s currently running some cabinet display lights in an IKEA unit so perfect for me when I forget to turn them off at night or if I’m out and want to have them come on. There are plugs out there with more functionality but this works well with the HUE bridge and I don’t need another app on my phone.

Now that's clever!
I bought 3 of these to control security lighting outside my home. The previous system was on a hand held remote with plug in mains switches. It was very ineffective particularly around the garage. The distance was just too far for the IR. sensor. The Phillips plug/switches when fitted were as simple as ABC to install. Plug in, look on the Hue app, find new switch, name it, finish. Worked perfectly, all 3 zones. You can assign an on/off time, or switch on/off from ANYWHERE via Internet and hub. I've linked my other Hue lights I have around the house and all work perfectly. This install is as easy as it gets. Brilliant system all round. I rate this, best buy.

Best Smartplug especially for HomeKit
I’ve gone through Alexa, Google and HomeKit systems and remained with HomeKit.Had Meross, Wemo, Eve smart plugs. When working they are fine. I now have Philips Hue smart plugs and they are the ONLY ones not to have any issues at all.All the other sometimes lose Wi-Fi (after software updates). Randomly fail to turn on or off. Two Meross failed completely. No problems at all with the Hue Smartplug - out of 6 plugs since launch (soon to be more) not a single issue. They are prices well - more expensive that Meross. A lot cheaper than the huge Eve and about the same price as Wemo

Best of the smart plugs
The smart plug to rule all smart plugs. I’ve been using wemo plugs for years, while they started off as market leaders in home automation they’ve fallen behind and more (finally!) Philips has come to sort this mess out! These plugs work great from the offset, work perfectly with my Apple HomeKit setup (so all the plugs aren’t in the Wi-fi) and have integrated seamlessly with my routines. The only thing that’s strange about them is the fact they say you should only plug lamps into them... which seems crazy. Anyway, these truly are great plugs and for the first time It’s possible to access the plug socket next to these if you plug them in on a strip.
