Easy to set up, simple to connect online and stream movies
When I compared various projectors, I was looking for something affordable, but, also multi-functional. Consumer Reports gave a "positive" review of various projectors, including the Vankyo Leisure 3W Mini Projector. After ignoring the "one star" and the "two star" reviews (they're never helpful), I was confident enough the Vankyo Leisure 3W Mini Projector would be a great solution for our backyard/outdoor "drive-in theater" entertainment. After testing it in the living room for setup, connectivity and sound, we set it up in the backyard (along with a screen and projector stand we purchased separately). We were able to stream from Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Disney+...you name it, we've played it for family and friends (so they may enjoy a "social distancing" movie from their decks and adjacent back yards. We've mirrored some apps and used our droid-phones/tablets to stream others. The option to add a separate speaker also amplified the sound, but we only need to do it when adjacent neighbors want to hear...otherwise, it's adequate for close proximity viewing (otherwise, we only use the internal speaker system). I'm thrilled with this model and would recommend it for it's affordability, its compactness, ease of set-up and multi-platform compatibility.

Best used with a fire stick
I have been wanting a projector for years and finally have a backyard to have outside movie. I was impressed with the price and nice carrying case. I thought I would be able to hook it up and watch a movie right away. Unfortunately I Couldn’t access Netflix or amazon prime. However you access these with a fire stick which you can get free as a special gift with your purchase. If you have a fire stick or a willing to wait for one to come in this is a great projector

AMAZING PICTURE QUALITY - great price point
I am one that never takes the time to review a product good or bad however I ALWAYS read the verified purchase reviews which impacts my decision to purchase or not! After receiving this little box of entertainment joy...I set up just before a family gathering having waited to the last minute to figure it out, always dreading these sorts of things as they are never quite as simple as they are supposed to be...we'll much to my great surprise, it was just that, simple as it could possibly be.I unpacked all, barely looked at the set up instructions as it was so very straight forward. Grabbed my Roku stick from my TV, plugged it in, made other connections and took it outside to project. I was amazed at the size of the picture and the quality I was able to get with such an inexpensive device. After seeing this and my family/friends being so impressed, several others have also placed orders for the same unit.I only wish I had taken a chance on something like this before I set up my indoor movie room having spent a small fortune for a system (LCD TV)

Just mediocre
I purchased this because I wanted to use it to watch movies outside and it also had an AUX port. I was going to use that AUX with my Bose Soundlink to listen to movies. After hooking it all up, the volume was so LOW, even maxed out all the way up. It wasn't the AUX cord cause I tried two different ones. I grabbed some old Logitech speakers I had and then hooked those up, it was slightly better and you could hear the volume but it wasn't loud and that was with it all the way up again. Other reviews seem to have the same problem and some bought soundbars. The picture quality was ok, it was fine from the top but then would get blurry at the very bottom and you couldn't read some of the menus.

mirroring problems/wifi problems
This projector is versatile. You can use your phone, laptop, apple tv, to play videos, photos, or whatever on it. With that being said there is one very big negative (which is why I am frustrated with this model): it is supposed to be able to play video/shows via wifi from your phone. I have the iphone 11, and when I use the wifi to mirror my phone to play netflix/hulu/ fitness app ect., it doesn't work completely! I was trying to play it from my couch (right in front of the wifi tower) and it wouldn't play at all...it kept buffering...it eventually did play but it kept glitching. It works just fine if you plug your phone into the projector with a lighting to HDMI cord connection (not included and I purchased one at target which cost me $50! I later returned it and ordered a cheaper one from amazon). The entire reason I bought this model is to use the phone via wifi from far away. I wanted to play shows while in my hot tub- I can't pause or change shows from the water if it is plugged in 10 feet away! I have to get out of the tub, dry off, and walk over to it. I could have saved money and bought the cheaper version because this one doesn't do what is is supposed to do!! So frustrating🤦♀️ . I did also try to use my phone as a hotspot and connected the projector to my phone and it was still very glitchy -the show kept freezing. With that being said, if you are going to be near it & don't need to be far away it works great. I did connect my apple tv to it and used the remote to control the tv shows...but, its a pain to have to lug all that outside when this projector claims to be able to run wifi with no issues.Side note: I ordered this model and was sent the incorrect cheaper (older model) without wifi. This projector is very much the same as the cheaper one except this has "wifi" supposedly. I waited weeks for the first one to come in to discover that it was the wrong one. They tried to talk me into keeping the older one and offered to send me a lighting to hdmi cable so i could use my phone to play shows (this is literally the only reason I purchased this projector). I declined as I really wanted to be able to use it remotely & not have to plug my phone in. Now that I see that this newer one doesn't really work how I need it to, I should've saved the money and kept the older one because they do the same thing.
