Best Vertical Mouse
This is the most comfortable vertical mouse I have tried. It holds your hand the most sideways, which is very important for eliminating lateral wrist motion. I tried a cheaper vertical mouse and returned it before coming back to Evoluent, man it was not even close. You don't have to twist your arm, pinch your fingers, make any weird motions, your hand just sits there. Compared to other mice this one is like AHH so natural.I LOVE having 3 finger buttons, being able to use middle click for opening links or pasting (usually the mouse wheel click on a normal mouse). Mouse wheel can also scroll horizontally while holding down one of the thumb buttons. I never knew I needed these two features in a mouse but I now use them constantly. The Evoluent software (Windows only?) allows you to remap the buttons for many additional functions. One change from the older model Vertical Mouse 4 I do not necessarily like is they have made the 3rd mouse button smaller. This is the button you press with your ring finger, whereas on the previous model it was pressed with your ring and pinky finger, definitely easier. I cannot comment on the battery life, this is my first wireless version and it has not run out yet. It takes 1 AA battery.Pros:Most comfortable vertical mouse available (this is #1)Lots of additional functions for common activities.Contoured finger buttons feel nice.Includes battery (!!) and extension cord for the wireless receiver (I have not needed to use it so far)Looks cool (better than in the picture), feels more premium compared to old model, more on par with mice at this price point.Cons:ExpensiveMouse button 3 harder to press than the Vertical Mouse 4 now that you can't use two fingers.

Best mouse I have ever owned!
I have used Macs since 1984, when the mouse was shaped like a bar of dial soap. I have CTS in both wrists, and my right (mouse) wrist has been slowly getting worse. This is, by far, the best mouse I’ve ever used. Most are too small or have buttons that are too easy to click or stupid features I’ll never use. Every single one I’ve tried (I’ve spent hundreds of dollars recently) has been a complete disappointment. This one feels great. Zero pain. Also, the buttons are well placed and have the right amount of resistance. The part that sticks out where your pinky finger rests keeps your hand from touching the surface, which no other vertical noise that I have tried has as a feature. The lack of software is fine. My Mac recognizes the buttons and with the latest MacOS, they can be assigned to whatever you need without any third party software. I have a total of 6 buttons assigned. The place where you put your thumb is really nice and give support. Basically your whole hand is supported, not just part. The buttons on either side of the thumb seemed strange, but in practice they are great. I have Show Desktop assigned to one and Mission Control to the other. Fantastic.I also have bigger than average hands, and the large version fits perfectly! I’ve never had one that fit before like this.If you have non-tiny hands and want a truly ergonomic mouse, get this!

Great wired solution
I don't usually leave reviews, but this mouse is ergonomically great for my hand and probably the best choice for wired users. This is why I bought it in the first place—to be able to use a wired mouse that didn't hurt my hand. One caveat is that it might not work on all mouse pads. Other than that, it's comfortable, which is what I wanted. I've only been using it for about a week, but it's good enough to leave a review to help someone else find what they're looking for. It's worth the price. I have to comment on my wireless Logitech MX 2. I love that mouse for wireless use, but there's no wired version. I'm loving this mouse for my wired solution; it's great.

Great Ergonomic Mouse
To start with, I've tried many different designs of ergonomic mice, and vertical mouse designs are by far my favourite and this Evoluent mouse is my favourite among the vertical mouse designs. It's almost a 90 degree tilt so my wrist isn't pronated at all while using it, which is important as I work a desk job and am on the computer for 8+ hours a day. It also fits into my hand extremely well. The pinky rest it has is also an under appreciated addition that many vertical mice do not have, it keeps your pinky from sliding across the desk as you use the mouse. I also really like the functionality of the 6 different buttons you have access to. The default options work great, though it's also nice that there is the option to remap the buttons with the Evoluent mouse driver. The battery life is more than adequate, I only need to swap batteries once every 3-4 weeks (if that) and I have a set of rechargeable batteries on rotation. It's also very easy to use, just plug in the dongle and it should work right away (if you're coming from a "normal" mouse, the adjustment to a vertical mouse might take you a bit to get used to), though you can also install the Evoluent driver to make the mouse more customizable. That said, it's not a perfect mouse. I think the materials used in the mouse could be of higher quality to increase the durability of the mouse. This is my second Evoluent mouse after the first one broke after roughly a year and a half of usage. Also, the exterior of the mouse is a high gloss plastic, which, although it looks nice, can actually make gripping the mouse without your hand sliding around a bit difficult, especially for people like me who have naturally sweaty hands. That said, a simple solution to this is to take some sandpaper to the glossy plastic and rough up the exterior of the mouse. It dramatically improves the grip.If I were to suggest any changes, it would be to make the mouse (or a new edition of the mouse) with higher quality materials, offer an alternative exterior material that has much more grip to it, and extend the pinky rest to wrap around and offer a palm rest as well.Despite these drawbacks, as I said earlier, this is easily my favourite mouse. I already mentioned that I'm on my second one and I will continue to get Evoluent mice because their ergonomics are just perfect for me.
