Great features and temp control, can’t beat the price either!
A really good looking and so far excellent functioning product! I was actually quite surprised that the solder feed works so well, the feed is ultra smooth and delivers the wire perfectly. No misfeeds or backlash at all. And the adjustable temperature is a great feature! I’d say that the only thing I’d like to see added to a new version would be a digital temperature readout, so you could precisely position the working temperature. Overall a wonderful new soldering gun at a heck of a great price compared to the competition. As far as durability only time will tell, but so far a bargain at twice the price! I might just order another one just to have a spare for projects away from home!

Amazing how well this solder gun works!
Ive been teaching myself how to solder for a while now. I have purchased 4 different solder irons and have done fairly good with them. I decided to try this Solder Iron Gun and with this I am making perfect solders every time. I ordered a cheap tesla build yourself kit to practice on. And “wow” it’s Amazing how easy it was with this Iron. So needless to say I Highly Recommend this to anyone from a beginner to an expert. Ohh yea, I almost forgot to mention one of the best features, you can solder with one hand. Leaving the other had to hold your materials..Amazing…

Good tool
A spool of solder attached to a soldering iron is a good idea. It takes a little practice to use it. When feeding the solder, make sure not to go too fast. The solder will begin to bunch up behind the weld. Once you have the feed rate down, it's easy to use. I like the idea of not having to use two hands when soldering. Patience is the key.

This is a hot iron with temperature control
I didn't know this style of iron existed. It has a fine point with a trigger solder feed. Trigger works well if you use the right size solder. I found the tin solder that came with the iron was harder to use than the 60/40 tin lead solder that melts at a lower temp and flows better. You need to buy 1mm or .04" solder to fit through the iron. You can buy generic replacement tips. It is a hot iron and it is nice to have temp control for electronic boards. I'm sure I will use this iron on many different projects.

Won’t stay together unless you modify it
As soon as I opened it it wasn’t all put together. I just figured it unscrewed it’s self during shipping. But when I tried to screw the cap that holds the iron on it wouldn’t reach the threads.. I’m a fabricator by trade and used a bench grinder fixed their engineering problem.. now it works great!

fast heat up and maintains a consistent temperature
I've had a soldering gun for the longest time which was heavy and awkward to use. One of those old "Weller" brands. I used a stick soldering iron for the last little while after finding out how light and easy to use it was. The problem was that it would take forever to heat up. This seems to be the best of both worlds with a bonus solder feed! It heats up fast and maintains the temperature. The iron is short so it's not awkward to use and it's not heavy unless you load up the entire spool of solder. I just take my solder and wrap it around a spent core just a few windings and it's enough to keep me going for several projects. The solder feeder is such a great help. I don't know why it took so long to invent something like this. It always seems like I need to be Vishnu to hold the components together along with the iron and finally the solder. Well, I'm not a god with many arms so I need all the help I can get. I already have a "helping hands" station which clips the various parts allowing my 2 only hands to hold the iron and feed the solder but often times this just isn't enough. Maybe the clips don't hold strong enough or I have to do something at a non-ideal angle. More light? Need to press it a bit? Whatever the reason, this helps. One handed soldering.. who knew?

Good concept, poor execution
The gun did not heat sufficiently to melt the solder that came with the kit. That was after letting it heat up for 10 minutes on the maximum setting. That's unacceptable in part because the package label said HEATS QUICKLY. The idea was to use the gun to solder two 18 gauge wires together without needing 3 hands. The feed mechanism worked OK, but I couldn't find out if it fed the solder wire to the right place because it didn't get hot enough.I returned it the following day. So no, I cannot recommend this. I will continue using my old, reliable Wall-Lenk and fumbling with solder.
