Raw and Simple: Eat Well and Live Radiantly with 100 Truly Quick and Easy Recipes for the Raw Food Lifestyle

Healthy, delicious, and easy. Hard to find in a raw cookbook!
Here are my favorite recipes, so far:- The juice recipes. I like these the most: Red Delish Lemonade, Maroon 5 (a yummy beet concoction), Green Day (very corny names, haha!), Fresh Fennel, and King Crimson. I've started drinking a juice every day and I feel much better, more energized and I find myself not really needing caffeine :)- Smoothies: The pumpkin pie one tastes like liquid pie. Happy Monkey is my favorite almond butter and chocolate fix. I could drink it every day. Tropico Gelato is another favorite. I can't imagine any of these being bad. I'll make them all.- Breakfast: Banana Walnut Oatmeal. Do it. The chia pudding variations are also really wonderful. I've tried the superfood one and the cardamom raisin. I can't wait to make the hazelnut chocolate one. These have become staples in my morning routine. She also has a recipe for Superfood Seed Bars under desserts, but I totally eat them for quick breakfast or a snack. Go easy on them! You don't need much and an 8x8 tray can easily last you at least a week.- Soups: Mushroom Miso is so much better than I thought it would be. It was amazing. The curried cauliflower soup was also pretty good, but I'd halve that recipe next time.- Dinner: I tried the Vietnamese Salad Rolls primarily out of skepticism, the rice paper spring rolls are always my favorite at Vietnamese/Thai restaurants. I honestly didn't expect much out of these without the rice paper wrappers, DANG, was I wrong. Totally making again. The sweet and sour mango sauce and the spicy tahini are also unreal. Perfect combination. Go for the zucchini noodles, if you eat them with her provided pesto recipe you have the easiest dinner in the world.- Her snack ideas are excellent. My new favorite quick breakfast/busy day snack is an apple with almond butter, hemp seeds, and dried cherries. The photography in this book is beautiful. There's a picture with every recipe, which I feel is too often overlooked in cookbooks. It's very well thought out.As a final note: I'm a huge fan of raw desserts, and she has some really lovely looking cupcakes. I have no doubts they'll deliver.

Just as the title says...
I never write reviews, but for this one I felt completely compelled to do so. These recipes aren't just raw and simple, they're also absolutely delicious! There's tons of valuble information in the beginning portion of the book. I ordered Judita's first book 'Going Raw', and although the recipes weren't extremely complicated, I found it to be a little overwhelming and was a little "turned-off", but that's probably because I'm relatively new to this lifestyle and the didn't have the proper equipment. This book on the other hand is completely straight forward and all you need is a knife, a blender, and food processor; maybe an icecream machine for 1 or 2 recipes but she also gives alternatives and even gives advice on how and when to try your own variations. This is the book you want when you'd like to begin incorporating raw foods into your lifestyle. Some of the ingredients can be a little expensive and hard to find (or maybe it's just me) but I promise you'll be happy to have spent the time and money! I made the spicy nacho cheese dip and when I shared it with some of my classmatesYYwho are completely cynical when it comes to unconventional foodsYYI had told them what it was called but I didn't necessarliy say that it was vegan and raw haha and they loved it! They were all completely shocked when I told them what is was made from. This is the fourth raw food cookbook that I've bought and it's by far my favourite... You won't regret purchasing it! The layout of the entire book is simple, clean, and sophisticated. All the images are in colour and the pictures of the recipes themselves will make you drool haha. Judita even goes as far as recommending other books if you'd like to expand your knowledge on a certain subject. She also includes websites for equipment, ingredients, information, and to get in touch with other raw foodists. Get this book and good luck on your path of healthy living! :)

Everybody should read that
It's a good book and the kindle version is so much cheaper than the printed version which is nice. The links to other pages in the kindle version however do not work, you come to a completely different page than intended. Therefore only 4 stars. Also, the first part of the book is almost exactly the same as in her first book, for those who have read it.Compared to the first book there are no recipes that require a dehydrator in this, and several that don't require a high speed blender.I can recommend the book, it has a good introduction to the matter, material and basic techniques. Good advice on which food to pick up and why.Now that i own a high speed blender it seems that i don't need any recipes, i just throw everything in there and experiment.

For the Part-Time Raw Foodist. Perfection!
This book blew my expectations out of the water! It is seriously in-depth about dieting, fasting, nutrition and how to go raw with a I'm-going-to-cheat-somtimes expectation. Ms. Wignall is extremely well-informed, reiterating a lot of knowledge I have gleaned over the years from reading and attending seminars. To make things easy-going, she has a friendly and easy to read writing style. It's a huge bonus that the pictures of her recipes are gorgeous. And they taste as amazing. And thank goodness her recipes don't call for a bunch of extra equipment that I am not yet ready to purchase and store.I love raw food on a basic level, that's why I began looking into a raw diet, but I'll never give up my wild caught salmon grilled on a hot bbq, nor will I stop baking bread and cakes and sweeties for my children. But I need to be able to feed my basic need for food that is raw and simple, and this cookbook fills the slot perfectly, especially since her recipes are built to feed 1-2 people.Every ingredient listed in this book is a must in any kitchen anyway, so it's not a big transition. Go for it, you'll feel lighter, healthier and still be satiated.
