Excellent product, 100% recommended
The product works perfectly in a 2013 BMW X3. At the dealership, the original replacement cost me a ridiculous $900 (here in Costa Rica). I highly recommend it.

YESS
The unit cleared one problem with my light and the part was easy to install. The price was very reasonable and the fast shipping was a plus too. Thanks for your support!

Check year make and model
Piece was so expensive to order from a local store my cousin who is a mechanic told me about ordering car parts off amazon. I was impressed with the price but the quality was superb. Just make sure to make the year make and model exact.

It was the bulb! Swap bulbs first!
2011 X3 F25. We all know how expensive these adaptive halogen head units cost. So when the “adaptive headlight failure” warning popped up on the dash, I assumed the worst.Options included: replace the bulb itself, replace the control module, order a single new/used unit, or a complete upgrade to new aftermarket LED units (very cool they’re finally making these for older X-models), most of which (aside from bulb swap) will require some DIY or shop labor. The failure was on the driver’s side, which was still original 2011 (I’d paid to replace passenger side AND drop the bumper for install several years ago when the LED halos decided to melt)…and based on ALL of the forum advice, replacing this ballast controller was the issue. So I ordered this part…and subsequently a T-20 torx Alan wrench…and was able to remove without any panel removal at all. Seems like that’s only possible with driver side, otherwise it’s still a bumper drop or wheel well cover removal at minimum to access.New module in place…still no light.Decided to take it to basics and test the bulb. Swapped with the one that worked…and that was it.Short story:: SWAP BULBS FIRST. If that’s not your issue, this part is a perfect fit and required no coding. Just make sure to unplug the unit first since it can pull some juice when turned on.Again, the mount screw used for BMW X- 2011 is a torx T20.Side note:: MUCH whiter and brighter light from the new Sylvania D Xenon bulb ($90 on Amazon) so I went ahead and ordered another to match. Ended up being a $250 major upgrade to lighting at the end of the day. Glad there’s a new controller in there now anyway.Seriously can’t believe the original factory halogen lasted 13 years. Amazing. Hope the new ones do the same.Happy wrenching, friends.

Plug and play!
Had my driver side headlight go out on my 2013 BMW X5. Swapped the bulbs and still no light. Took it to BMW if Bellevue here in western Washington and was told it would be $1,500 for the ballast and an additional two grand to install the part. They claimed they had to pull the bumper, fender and the headlight assembly. Total lie. I bought this part for $30. Pulled my tire, removed the wheel well and a plastic bracket that was in the way. Plugged this bad boy in and still had no lights. Then I remembered something a BMW enthusiast told me. I turned the headlights off and then back on to reset the ballast and what would you know, I have two perfectly functioning headlights for $30 and a little bit of labor! Never take your BMW to the crooks at BMW off Bellevue. By this little guy and do it yourself. You’ll save $2,970!!!

OK for the price, but it didn’t last long.
I bought this about five months ago. A month ago, it went out again.I bought two more because it’s much cheaper than dealing with BMW OEM parts.I’m going to try to install another one, and see if it gives me a better span. I highly suspect that my module went out because of a problem with sealing the lower electrical connector. On my next install, I’m going to make sure to apply some dialect. Grease to see the connector better.
