Extremely versatile capture card.
This is an impressive capture card. Had one or two minor tweaks to work out with the Blackmagic support team, but they were prompt and courteous and we solved both issues with one quick email. FYI - they were both fixable by me if I would've read the user's guide, lol. It's a great card though. I especially love that, if you get the breakout cable, it essentially covers every type of a/v input I could ever need. From modern HDMI and SDI to old school Component, Composite and S Video; in addition to analog audio. Highly recommend it.

Nice IO card for use with Premiere
I had some problems with installation- it required a permission to be changed on my mac- but it doesn't tell you that anywhere. I called tech support they told me to change a permission. Once that was changed everything work just fine.

UHD not working over HDMI
This was the second BMD DeckLink card I've purchased and the second time I am sorry for not returning it. I could not get this card to lock sync with UHD output over HDMI. Eventually I figured out a ritual that would cause it to sync, but only in Media Express and only with 24fps content, and only after several reboots and waiting up to an hour. Once in sync for UHD, the card would not sync correctly for HD output again until power-cycled.BMD support did respond timely and professionally to emails so the one star for them, but they weren't helpful in resolving the problem. I had the card in one of only 4 models of PC BMD list as supported (HP Z820). Tech support's suggestions were to try the card in different slots (which didn't make any difference) and try to capture UHD (which failed). I asked a couple of times if they were able reproduce the problem on their end and they finally admitted that they had no way to test the HDMI output. With the first DeckLink I had a similar problem. BMD were advertising a feature (Linux support) that they finally admitted they hadn't tested and couldn't test. This product line clearly needs better QA.

Resolve can't capture from HDMI and occasional / random static audio from either HDMI digitial and Analog input (left channel).
1) cannot capture from HDMI into DaVinci Resolve (must be SDI input) -- perhaps they will fix this in later releases. If you want to capture non-SDI into Resolve, you will need to convert it to SDI externally then into this (or any) Decklink.2) have been getting noise over the past few months (random static in channel 1 [left]) and sent in for RMA, they ended up "not finding anything wrong" (by testing it in a way that would not reproduce it). They are sending me the card back and I suspect I'll still have the problem.NOTE: Side issue, when plugging computer (nVidia GPU) w/ HDMI output directly into Decklink, the EDID describes itself as a 1080i59.94 (max) supported device. If I place an HDMI splitter inline, I can then capture at 1080p60 (capturing into Media Express, OBS or custom version of command line FFMPEG).--DougP.S.> IT had a noisy FAN for the first day but it seems to have "fixed" itself. I had a lengthier review, but shortened it to this.UPDATE: the card was returned and the occasional static noise is GONE. I've asked them if they performed any upgrades to the hardware (firmware and/or component level) and have not received a reply yet. Went from 2 back to 4 stars, however not having the card for 2 weeks was a pain and will continue a more diligence watch for random static on left channel.

Buyer beware.
This card has some nice features. HDMI compatibility is not one of them. After repeated requests for assistance to the BMD tech support guys, they stopped replying at all. It seems that the color-space output that this card supports is limited to Y, Cb, Cr as far as I can tell.Have not had any luck with HDMI inputs either, except from a $6K professional video signal generator.Keep in ind also, they do not repair cards that are "legacy" in their words. So, after the warranty is up, and it breaks, you will have to toss it out, and buy a new one.Overall, they make a lot of nice stuff, but the tech support is horrid in my experience.
