this boot was used on a 97 4runner. so It worked but you have to "mickey mouse it" (Mexican mechanic slang for winging it).If your inner cv boot has the three flatten edges you will need to retain the older edge and it will need to be sandwiched between the cup and new silicone boot to ensure proper fit.If you do not have the special tool to stretch the boots make sure you have the cv joint off the car (it will go easier trust me).To prevent the new silicone boot from flying off when you try to cinch the tie strap down you need a clean grease less surface. something that is difficult to have when this job requires you spreading grease all over the bearings and inner cup. so don't crank on the tie down tool too much! Otherwise you will have wasted a tiedown and will need to find new zip ties. I opted to use the metallic zip ties that have tat locking ball bearing, lets see how long it lasts.Many forum users recommend you to leave the old outer tie down on the original groove to prevent the more pliable silicone boot to flopping of that groove.This was not an easy task but it helps you keep the original cv axle as opposed to a cheaper quality rebuilt one.

Not easied to installed,it is loosing from CV part compare with OEM boot.

The listing shows universal and states INNER, but that is incorrect. The tripod design of the inner CV doesn’t seal off with this boot. Every parts house lists this same part number as INNER CV so the problem is with DORMAN INDUSTRIES, not this seller. The seller is A+

Easy install you don't need the stretch tool just pull the two clips that hold the knuckle on the shaft clean all old grease off thoroughly and try to pack the new grease in the bearings and put the remainder in the Axel cup. The rubber is a lot softer then the original. It will expand to much at high speed and break. I recommend buying the black ones they are a stronger rubber.

Worked as expected but I waited too long before repairing and my axle bearing went bad.

This is typically for the inner side of CV axles. Silicone is better in every respect to neoprene rubber as a boot, especially for high/low temperatures, except in mechanical shearing (where the neoprene replaces the silicone boot for the outer, always moving, side). This particualr boot comes with the clamps, grease, etc. It is however, a bit thinner then OEM ones.NOTE: Before you buy this, make sure your inner cv joint housing is circular, not a tripod housing as the tripod housing boots need a special shaped boot.

Only comes with enough grease to barely repack the bearings. Had to add more than what comes with it. Also the stainless bands that come with it are JUNK. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY WILL CUT THE BOOT.
