The new age of modeling has arrived!
Amazing Mic. for the money (bundled with modeling software) I don't think it can be beat in today's marketplace.I was amazed how it sounded beside my U-89 / U-87 etc. Time to buy the Slate small diaphragm Mic. as well to compare with my other Mics. Might be time to sell the "expensive" stuff? One note: The ML-1 puts out much less volume than the Neuman Mics(~-15db). that I compared it to. However, my Mic. Preamps are quiet and can easily compensate without added noise.Great investment!

Endless Possibilities.
FUN software. If you are a singer or use your voice in creative ways this mic has a lot of potential. The digital compressors and mixing strips are pretty cool. I have Slate Digital ALL ACCESS pass and with this mic the fun is endless. Wasn’t ready to spend $1100 on the awesome sounding WA-8000 so I “settled” for this for more than half off the price WA mic. Be prepared to add another $50 to the price for ilok thumb drive because the licenses for this mic is not ilok cloud compatible. Buy on sale and don’t look back.

Wind tunnel sound after 2 hours of use.
Let me first start by saying that slate plugins and software are some of the best ive ever used. I don't normally write negative reviews, however most musicians, recording artists, and small studios don't have a lot of money to throw around for equipment and every investment is precious, I fall into this category. I had a ton of hope that this microphone would have been a silver bullet. After 2 hours of use there was a wind tunnel sound. I tried to deal with the distributor directly. They suggested that I live in a humid climate and that it was causing the issue. My rh in my studio is 54% and honestly I found this troubling and unacceptable, and at the price point of $799 this microphone needs to be reliable. Luckily for me alton music the vendor refunded me with no issues and I didn't end up with and overpriced paperweight. One google search and you will find that many other people have the same issue with this microphone all getting a response that you live in a humid climate. Buyer beware

Was great until it wasn’t.
Product sounded amazing very clean and professional sound. But beware these microphones have been experiencing issues where they suddenly start producing a low “wooshing” sound. I am having to return mine and have it replaced. As a sound engineer I have a few friends who have also experienced this issue

ABSOLUTELY AMAXING
Super crisp sound, and it is definitely worth the money. It can truly emulate several types of popular mics and some of my favorite singers use it. I've been using this one in the studio for years! Finally have my own. Highly recommended.

Million dollars worth of vintage mic in your studio.
Not much to say, the mic is great on it own or using the software. Just make sure, if you don’t own a ILOC license USB doogle, you’ll need to buy one to unlock the Slate Digital software.

The mic may be malfunctioning.
After receiving the microphone, I was unable to test it immediately due to being overseas. Upon returning and testing, I found significant background noise and hum. I changed the cable of the audio interface and the connection cable between the microphone and the audio interface, but the loud background noise and hum persisted.
