These switches work fine. I would not say it is super simple to install, nor is it super difficult. About 3/4" needs to be cut out of the hot side of the cord where it passes through the switch to break continuity so the switch can do its job. Cutting out this section also allows the cord to lay flat in the switch so that the two halves can be screwed together.There are no directions included and judging by some of the other reviews, which include comments of soldering and wire stripping, many people just had no idea how to install this.

This small switch on a favorite lamp was broken. I was amazed to find a replacement part for it that actually fit. I wasn't sure when I ordered it but took a chance and now my pretty lamp works again. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Perfect in line switch that fixed my lamp. Can use it again! Just be aware of the 2 sizes of cords. This switch is for the larger diameter cord. There are skinny cords that require a different size switch. Easy to install but had to use padded pliers to firmly squeeze and punch the metal prog into the cord for conduction.

We were able to save mom's favorite old lamp by replacing the rotary switch. The inside of the compartment on this replacement was a bit tighter than the original, and required some well placed pliers squeezes on the cord to get it thin enough, but then it worked and she is pleased. We would have liked to screw it down tighter, but had to leave a slight gap so the rotary would still turn. As stated, it was a tight fit, but it worked.

This switch was very simple to replace my broken switch on our lava lamp.

used in a lamp where previous switch had shorted and melted the switch - no problems in replacing with this new unit works great now

Perfect fit, exactly what I needed. My local hardware store sold me the lamp cord but the switch they sell is for a smaller cord 😡what's up with that
