Band Of Gypsys

This is a review of the vinyl pressing of Band Of Gypsys. This pressing uses the stampers from the Classic Records pressing (it has identical dead wax inscriptions), which was an all-analog mastering. My copy is quiet, nearly flat and nearly perfectly centered, and the sound quality is excellent – deep bass and extended treble. Sounds perfectly balanced. Get it!

I won’t review the music from the album, since there is no need to restate the obvious.I received the album early, and its packaging was great. The album itself sounds great, and I was surprised about the included booklet and poster reprint. The booklet provides a great historical explanation of why this album was made in the first place, and what Jimi Hendrix was going through prior to its recording, namely record contracts from the past with which he still had legal obligations, and he was facing charges.. It also explains how he put this band together.It also comes with a reprinted poster, which I can’t wait to frame and hang up somewhere around the house.Buy this if you like the music for sure. Perhaps you will be surprised by the extras that you didn’t read about in the description like I was!

This is exactly what I had hoped to find in a new pressing. Very dynamic, live performance. You can hear the air in the room. Very exciting. I've been buying a lot of new vinyl, hoping to find recordings that best represent that medium. This satisfies.Keep watching this spot for new, exciting reviews like this one!Regard,Mark Brady

Excellent remastered repackaged vinyl LP of this classic 1970 album recorded on New Year's Day 1970 at the Fillmore East in New York. Jimi Hendrix with the Band of Gypsys featuring Bill Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums. Still possibly the best version of "Machine Gun" plus beautiful versions of "Power To Love" and "Message To Love". Sounds great, crystal clear sound and includes a cool poster and liner notes which I found very interesting.

Absolutely perfect record! The sound is absolutely breath taking. With a great stereo like mine this is like having Jimi playing live in my living room. Truly captivating. I can’t even put it into words. If you want this, then get it!! You will Not regret it. Nuff said!

It doesn't get much better than this!

Excellent sound quality and packaging in the vinyl version. A bit short, but you take what can get from this era and Hendrix. Buy it if you’re a fan.

It’s Hendrix so of course it’s an amazing record.

This does look nice but its exactly the same as the 2010 release which is not an all analog pressing, as advertised on the sticker on the front. The US version is. So what happened here i wonder.

Received the parcel today, with the WORST packaging I have ever witnessed. The vinyl is not damaged thankfully, but for a record of that price. The gatefold is damaged which is highly disappointing.I hope Amazon take this further.

My favorite Hendrix album. Very nice sound and quality. A must have as far as I'm concerned.
