50% failure rate
About 50% of these go bad. The last one I had went bad just a few days after it arrived. I sent it back for a refund deciding it wasn't worth replacing these anymore. They said I switched it with another unit when in fact this was the one they had sent me. They seem to work okay under 50% load but anything more this is what happens. And yes it did catch on fire.

This is my tenth order of this charge controller- and they are all still working great.
This Solar Charge Controller 80A- PWM 12V/ 24V -1920W -Solar Panel Charger- is an overall excellent choice for multiple solar/ battery bank systems. Some I have charging 24-volt battery banks, and some are on 12-volt systems, and these are the best for the amount of charging and battery info -on one screen. I never go over 80 amps total panel input, and they just keep working and charging day after day. I needed one more for a 24-volt - four solar panel system- with a 4- 6v - 430 AH each- battery bank that powers a 24 volt- 220-volt output- inverter that is running a deep well pump easily with no overheating, etc. Excellent charge controller! Great find!

Top rated Pulse Width Modulation solar charge controller.
These PWM controllers work well for lead acid batteries. Over the last year mine has been running 24/7 to power an off grid cabin in the desert. It charges (8) 29dc lead acid batteries a 10kwh bank using (6) 260w solar panels. At 24v 2000w of solar capability cannot be found in this price range anywhere. I would not use for lifepo4 batteries as the pulse width mod is designed for lead acid and may damage lifepo4 over time. Some of the negative reviews could be caused by too much solar watts at 12v. Loose wire connections (always check a week or so after install) can cause burnt connectors. I’ve seen that in victron controllers as well. It has worked in freezing temps as well as 115 degree heat and my fridge has never stopped running, my water pump and lighting have always worked as this provided enough recovery solar input to charge my batteries and run the inverter. As for the load output, it clearly states that it is 300w not 80 amps as some have claimed advertised. The load function on these controllers is only designed to run low powered lighting, timers or relays not power your home. The 80 amps go to the battery people.

Not worth the box it’s packed in
This “charge controller “ overcharged my batteries and damaged 2 of them. Do yourself a favor and buy a good one. This thing is garbage.

A reliable charge controller
The only thing I would change about this controller would be to add a backlight that you can turn on and off. It does not have a back light. Easily set up and programmed, and the wire connectors will let you use the appropriate gauge of wire for 60 amps. Load output is 25 amps. I have a small 4-100 watt panels with lead acid batteries and this controller works very well with this setup and has capacity for me to expand my system some should I need to expand.

Nice controller
Bought two and am replacing a third one with this now.Works much better than my previous controller which was a bit more expensive. Each controller is hooked up to two 200 watt panels for input total of 400 watts per controller. No issues with full summer sun. The output shuts off when battery is charged and display shows a notification of this. They seem solid and have been running for about three months in a hot humid shed.
