Great value for the money.
Throughout the installation process I found this pre-filter to be of decent quality. I ordered a 3/4 in and I received a pre-filter that had 1 in MNPT connectors on the housing and it included a screw-on coupling type connector that turned the 1 in into a 3/4-in MNPT connection. The most puzzling part of installing using the 3/4 in coupling connectors was the lack of material to be able to tighten the couplings into the rest of the existing pipe architecture. I came to these reviews several times seeking advice from other people and I didn't see any solution but I did see that there were a few others that were confused like I was and were experiencing the same issue. So I will pass on this tidbit of information. The 3/4-in couplings can be tightened quite well by using a special wrench that goes inside the lumen of the 3/4-in connectors. Inside the lumen you'll see that there is two opposing ear like structures. I included a picture of the wrench that you'll need in order to be able to tighten these connectors with appropriate torque. I went to my local plumbing store and was introduced to this new tool as I had never used one before. I used the fork end of the pop out plug wrench and was able to adequately torque down the connectors. I hope that helps anyone else like me that was looking for a hand up. I haven't finished my system yet, if something changes my feeling about this pre-filter filter I will update my review but as of right now, I think it's a great value for the money.

Needed if you are on a well and have drip line irrigation
I have a 20+ year old well at my home. I started seeing a silt in the screens for when I was trying to water some 5 year old trees. When I pulled the hose bib off of one, I seen that the screen was fully clogged. Another had chunks of iron. I knew I needed a filter. So far, I have purchased 5 of these. They block an incredible amount of material from my hydrant lines While they don't come with it, I highly recommend putting a cover over the unit to keep the sunlight from causing algae from growing and contaminating the down stream lines. I will be buying more as I want to use both screens on my drinking water.

Works well but ...
Works well on my garden spigot. The spigot comes straight from my well and is unfiltered. I'd have to buy new soaker hoses every year because they would clog with rust. This works well although when the screen does fill up with rust and sediment it's very difficult to clean it completely to reuse. I tried several different ways to clean it before just buying another screen for it.

Pre filters our well water
We have used this as a pre-filter for our new whole house filtration system. It has only been a couple of weeks, but this definitely works very well and we would highly recommend it. We see a lot of the bigger sediment from our well water being removed with this pre-filter.

No
0I didnt have any issues with it leaking. Just use plenty of Teflon tape and you'll be good. Only had it installed a few days so not sure how much crud it will remove but I'm sure it will work great

Very happy. Great product
I’ve had this filter for over six months now zero complaints. Scary to see what’s in your water until you look in the bottom of the settlement filter after a few months. Opened the valve and it drained out instantly. I actually also put one on my garage to filter my car wash hose water also. A lot of different ways to configure the plumbing fittings and luckily he was able to find the adapters I needed at Home Depot.

Must-Have Pre-Filter That Saves My $200 Whole-House Filters
I installed this pre-filter ahead of my whole-house system (where replacement filters run about $200 each), and it’s been an absolute game-changer. Here’s why:Extends Filter Life: Captures sediment and debris before it ever reaches the main filter, so I’m no longer replacing those expensive cartridges every few months.Built-Tough Construction: Heavy-duty housing with leak-proof seals—no pressure loss, no worries.Easy Installation & Maintenance: Clamps on quickly to existing plumbing and the cartridge swaps out in seconds.Immediate ROI: Paid for itself by preserving one expensive filter already—best investment I made in my water system.Room for Improvement:None—this unit delivers exactly what it promises. I have zero suggestions!
