WOW - GREAT TWIST
This book goes all over the place but not in a bad way but in a gripping way. I listened to the audible version and at times, I thought maybe it skipped a bit here and there as I was a bit confused now and again. Secrets? I haven't heard anything about a secret let alone, the plural, secrets and I'm almost 1/2 done with the book? I love this author's books but this one blew me out of the water - ya just have to get to the end!!!!! The way this is written just scatters your brain here and there so I advise you to not make any assumptions while reading this book. I loved it for all the twists and turns and WOW the ending. I never in a million years saw it coming! This gets a huge 5 stars from me. Do yourself a favor and read this delicious book. Yummy Yummy!!

Great for beginners
I guess this would be good if you're just starting to dipping your toe into the reading world. It was okay, wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. I absolutely hated the main character's husband (Sean?) I already forgot his name. The main character's personality was a tad annoying but I might just be jaded.I liked how it made me trust absolutely no one at certain parts of the book. If you're thinking about it, just do it. It's a simple, quick read.

Loved this
This was such a fast paced book with a shocking twist that I just did not see coming. I would've read this in 2 sittings had my screen not broke. Waiting to replace it was excruciating, as I kept guessing what really happened that night. Once I read the end I realized how much of the story hinted to the truth, the whole thing pieced together perfectly. This was my first read by this author and I'm excited for my next! If you like psychological thrillers, ones that are very much true to real life, when you never know what goes on behind closed doors. No family is as perfect as they seem. You will love this book!

Just didn't quite do it for me
I hate when I read a book and have to leave a semi bad review. Of course this is just to my taste. Anyway, this book really kept my attention. Even though I wanted to smack Libby upside the head for being so stupid. You'll see what I mean if you read the book. All through the book there was talk about "the secret". It was driving me crazy and you don't really find out until the end. I was kinda disappointed with the ending. There is a big reveal but I didn't feel like it was a "big reveal". I guess I expected it to be something worse than it was. Maybe I'm just reading too many psychological thrillers and this wasn't as good as some others I read. I really wanted to give this a 3.5 but seeing how you can't I had to go with three stars. Please give this book a chance yourself. I've read negative reviews on other books and still gave them a chance and I'm glad I did because I ended up thinking they were good books. I will give other books by This author a try because it wasn't the writing so much as the story line. This just wasn't my cuppa tea. Sorry.

WOW! DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!
This book personifies just what I absolutely LOVE about the stories from Samantha Hayes! I've read 4 of her books and the one thing that is a given about her writing is that you will likely not know the twist until you get to the end. You may think you know what happens, you may have several theories of where the story is going, but I'm 99.5% sure you will have been wrong! Her books are just so good! I've loved them all and this one in particular is so twisty, and a little twisted! Loved it, gave it 5 stars, as I have her others as well. No I don't know her, I just love her writing style and storytelling and can't wait to read the next one! Read this book, you will be shocked, I can almost promise.

Thriller with an unexpected twist
I enjoyed Date Night because it was well written and well plotted. It's an intense family drama including The unfortunate murder of a 17 year old girl. The story is narrated in two time frames, now, in the present tense, and before, in the past tense, mostly from Libby's point of view and some scenes from her husband, Dan's. There are some red herrings and plenty of unreliable narrators, to keep the reader turning pages, until finally, a big secret, leading to the final twist, which I didn't see coming, is disclosed in the last chapter. The setting in UK, in the picturesque Cotswolds, anchors the story.

A gripper
I have read several books by Samantha Hayes, and enjoyed them all. This one was suspenseful and quite addictive as well. I didn’t give it a ‘5’ because the ending was a bit disappointing to me. Without giving anything away, there were those who deserved to know the complete truth, which didn’t happen.

Gripping story
The climax stunned me so much that from the beginning everything pointed towards Sean but the real killer is another person. I feel bad for Libby and Natalie who knew nothing about this but shared their life with him. Alice is portrayed as a sweet girl who captures the readers heart. I feel sorry for Sasha the girl who is killed. Her parents have a tough time but I am sure what happened to the killer at the end would have soothenend them.Nice story well written very very gripping. Till the end the killer is not identified at all. That’s the USP of the story. Great writing from the author.

Definitely worth reading..you will not regret it
To be honest I found it a bit confusing at first . References to post mystery and then writing in the present was a bit annoying but I persevered and it made the plot even more interesting. All sorts of scenarios were going through my mind during the course of reading but I didn't contemplate the ending as it was unique. I am a fan Congratulations

A Date Might
Sean Libby and little Alice are the perfect little family. He's a partner in a vetinary practice, she has her own catering business, All Thing Nice. Sasha a17 year student helps also babysitting Alice. Why would she disappear.one night leaving Alice at home alone. This story is full of tantalising intrigue where old secrets are buried. Kept e reading well into the night.Highly recommended..

Great book. I couldn’t guess what happened until the last page. Quite a twist in the tale. I lived it.
