Liked product EXCEPT. I needed a tool, a Phillips screwdriver, to get the bulb in. Simple. But I don’t have one. I’m “at home” as is everyone else. Sat some weeks u til my son masked and gloved, came over. I’m a senior. I need the light to use my laptop. Thankfully, it does the job I purchased it for.

I truly do wish I had read the reviews, especially by barry (vine reviewer, August 6th 2014) however, I tend to read reviews from the last year or so. I'm definitely changing that routine.This lamp was bought for my kiddos bedroom. I love that it has a USB port for charging his phone and tablet. I also enjoyed the extra electric plug located on the other side that he could use to plug in his laptop. Gooseneck, small switch located on the front. It was wonderful when I looked at it.Then, surprise, you can only use Verilux light bulbs with it!. There is NO WAY to use any other bulb, and my kiddo has a color changing one he uses as a nightlight. Why isn't this stated in the product description?Also, I was agasp when I noted the price of the bulb ($10) AND SHIPPING (another $5). How many hours of use can I expect from a $15 light bulb? What about a $15 bulb located in a 7 year olds bedroom?Returning this quickly and continuing on the hunt for a goose neck lamp with a USB port for my kids room.

I use this lamp at my bedside. When I snap it on in a dark room, the light slowly gets y brighter in a few seconds. That's nice because you don't have such a surge of light hitting your eyes. The neck is wonderfully flexible. My apartment is old and has no ceiling light so I often turn the shade toward the ceiling or wall to give me nice ambient light. Just make sure the light is balanced. The charge portal is great because my phone often updates in the wee hours of the morning which means it charges and updates while I sleep. Nice, sleek design. I like the smooth goose neck much more than those that look like a series of metal rings that allow flexibility.

This item arrived on time and is exactly as advertised; the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I am still getting used to the very bright fluorescent light, haven't really used it for reading yet--if you need a really bright light, this is it. The size, appearance and base features (off-on switch, regular plug and outlet for cellphone charger, also nice weight to avoid tipping over) are ideal and very convenient, and the price is very reasonable.

Not an amazing amount of light, and the quality of the light isn't particularly clear or rich. But, there is a low key quality to the light these things cast, and the quality of the lamp is good for the price. I have two in my office, and use them instead of the overhead light most of the time. I am admittedly a little fussy about the quality of my light, and find these to be acceptable.

This lamp works fine. I really don't like the "Daylight", LED bulbs. So I replaced it with a "Soft Light", bulb and it works perfectly. Solid base and the EasyFlex Gooseneck works great. We also love the USB port and extra plug. Would recommend for people looking for those features.

Update 5/2019: I still love this lamp, no problems at all & I use it every day as a bedside table lamp- the outlet and USB plug are great for charging cell phones, kindle etc.Original review:I'm very happy with this lamp, it's a very well made lamp of substantial weight, & it's taller than it looks in the photo(?) The arm is very bendy & in many directions, the light itself is great- bright but not harsh. The on/off button is easy to use & find- even in the dark. Great lamp!
