lots of pea protein - but all 6 of my cats like it...
pea protein is the 3rd (pea flour) and 5th (dried peas) ingredients - the only difference between the pea flour and dried peas is the flour is ground up dried peas... if you put the two together as one ingredient as should be done - there is almost certainly more pea protein than chicken... Castor and Pollux Organix grain-free canned cat food, the gold standard of Organic grain-free canned cat food in my opinion, also does the same thing with pea protein in their ingredients - but they are only the 4th and 7th ingredients, so not as much pea in relation to chicken... also - Castor and Pollux Organix has a 2 year Best By date from date of canning - whereas Tender and True has 3 years Best By date from the canning date... which just means if you have one can of each with the similar Best By dates - the Tender and True will be a year older...i alternate Tender and True Organic grain-free with Castor and Pollux Organix grain-free with all 6 of my cats (no dried kibble kitty-crack except for occasional special occasions), who are spoiled rotten and eat ON DEMAND throughout the day and night (one of them will wake me 2-3 times throughout the night wanting food, and there is no denying him) and all 6 of my cats seem to like Tender and True as much as Castor and Pollux - even with apparently more pea protein, and salt... as a 1 star reviewer noted - there appears to be more salt in the Tender and True - 8th ingredient versus the 14th ingredient in Castor and Pollux Organix...and I just noticed the ingredients for Tender and True listed on Amazon's page is slightly different than the ingredients on the cans i have - the pea ingredients on my cans are 4th and 5th...

Only 1 Star for flavor
My reason for giving 1 star for flavor is because I am NOT going to taste it. Now our cats on the other hand seem to really enjoy it. Our cats ages 11 & 12 have been eating this brand for years. And according to their vet are extremely healthy.

Mix with a little water to feed your cat....
When I first tried this wet food for my cats, they were not impressed, but after I added a little bit of luke warm well water to make more gravy, they loved it. I can feed, two adult cats, 3 meals out of one tin. I supplement with the dry food from the same company. Both cats will not eat any other type of cat food now, other than real organic roasted chicken!! Thumbs up!!

Quality Cat Food w/Organic Ingredients
Our cats like this food, but don't go crazy over it like they do one or 2 of the other organic foods. Ingredients are good, but not enough variety and salt is too high on the list.

3 OUT OF 4 CATS DONT LIKE THIS FOOD
I forgot I had previously purchased this on Chewy website. Unfortunately I wasted my money again on food no one would eat. Three out of four of the cats that I gave this to, do not like it and will not eat. I don't know whats in this formula but most cats do not like it. The one cat that does eat it will only eat it if it's fresh and just been opened and she only eats a little.

All pea protein from the smell of it!
I was happy to find an organic cat food with such good ingredients and no caragineen--BUT- it's all pea protein inside--and the cats won't touch it. Even mixing it with other food is not a solution because the smell of the pea protein is so strong, there isn't any meaty smell to it at all--no wonder the cats won't eat it--- I mean seriously, how can they even pretend there is chicken in there--it smells and looks like pea protein with a touch of whatever else, but the grain is also not meat-like--so the bulk of it must be the fillers..? Isn't there any good quality organic cat food out there without dangerous caragineen that actually has meat in it?
