Just as Cool as Ever
This is really cool. My husband got it for Christmas this year, and our four-year-old also loves it. The teens think it's 'way too retro,' and unfortunately I can't play it, because the bright colors hurt my eyes - but I'm prone to migraines so I don't think it's the game's fault. It has all the classic Atari games, but you should be aware that games like PitFall, that came out in arcades only, are not on this console. This isn't just a nostalgia piece - it's functional and we've had no hardware problems with it as of yet. We have only used it with 2 controllers at once. All-in-all I think it was reasonably priced for what you get. The only thing I would change if I were them would be to put the full game list in the product description so people don't have to search the Net for one.

I am returning this product after owning it for a hour and a half.
Honestly this product is equal to the worth of the 4 AAA batteries I put in the included controls. ($6.75). The plastic of the system is flemsy. The IR controls work intermittently. A substantial percentage of the, "100 games" are games that never even made it to market in original atari erra. The vga connections are poor and cause the image to constantly flicker, dem and distort game images. If this game cost my less than $10.00 I would just trash it and cut it as a loss. However, $40.00 for this blatant scam is a mildly infuriating insulte the intelligence of the average consumer.

Pros: Shipping was fast , Everything in working order.Cons: Original Box to the Atari was Disgustingly Dusty I wiped most of it off before I took the picture .

I don't normally like video games
Flashbacks!! I don't normally like video games, but this console is a lot of fun and reminds me of the games I played as a kid and my kids now (16-25) all want to play! Make for fun family nights. And the price?! SO worth it!!

Disappointing...
I was so disappointed in this product. Not because I've gotten used to new games and "old school" graphics are just bad - NO. I remember very well what the actual systems were like back then, and while they don't compare to today's games - this was a joke and a HUGE waste of money. Not only that, it's marketed as if it has ALL the games you remember. I think I knew maybe two of the games - the rest I'd never heard of. Try it if you want, but get ready to print out a return shipping label. :(

It's fun playing the old games that were beyond my time
It's fun playing the old games that were beyond my time. The only drawback are the controllers. I would of rather had wired controllers, and a more sturdy product. One controller was defective and didn't move like it should with how you use it. Tapping one direction would cause the frog to jump the whole length instead of just a little bit.

Cheap cash-in on nostalgia. Skip it.
Disappointing. The promise of playing old classic Atari games on a new flash memory console, barely carried off. The thing screams "Cheap knock off" once plugged in.Many titles are not the original games - they are licensed knock-off copies and poorly done. There are a few of the original games. The controllers that come with it are just bad. Poor response and very very sensitive to distance from the IR port and any other "noise".I have buyer's remorse and I got this for my wife ( who grew up playing old Atari systems) and my 8 yr old, not myself!I feel that I went to buy "Atari" and got some Chinese back alley copy that just licensed the name. Oh, wait -that is exactly what this is.I will buy the wired controllers and see if they are any better.

A bit hard to work with, but I enjoy it.
It's a pretty good system, and full of nostalgia. I enjoy many of the games on it, but being that I didn't actually grow up in the Atari age, I have no idea how to play a lot of them. One of the flaws with it is that you don't get any explanations on how the games operate. Now, obviously with games like Space Invaders, there isn't really any explanation needed. But others, I have no idea how to play, and many of these games were made before text even made it's way into games (Adventure was the dawn of it, but even then, barely) so there's no way for them to explain the gameplay. The booklet included attempts to explain some of it, but usually more just gives you a summary of what the game is about. Also, something that wasn't immediately obvious to me was that many of the games on the system cannot be played without two people (or, to be more accurate, you can play while the other player's sprite sits there doing nothing). Many games also have various different kinds of..game modes? I'm honestly not sure, because it doesn't get explained and isn't easy to figure out. Even Pong isn't what I know Pong is supposed to be.One more note to make of it is that sometimes the controller is a bit unresponsive, but this is mainly when operating the game selection menu- during gameplay itself it seems fine.Overall, it is a fun thing to own. There are a solid handful of games that I have figured out how to play that I enjoy quite a lot, but still many that I am clueless on. I am quite interested in retro games, so I am glad I have it. However, I am also glad that I purchased it using Amazon gift cards I got at Christmas, because spending the almost $50 of my own money for something I have a very limited idea of how to use would not be fun.
