Glad I purchased them and you will be too!
Every once in a while, I come across an item that, for my purposes, far exceeds even the bare minimum of expectation I could have. The Model HPM1000 Behringer Headphones are one such item. Prior to purchase, I researched numerous other brands and models.. ultimately choosing to gamble on these essentially out of sheer curiosity. And I am so glad I did! The feel of these headphones suit me well and I found them to be instantly comfortable. I noted the 3.5mm end and screw on 1/4" adapter were heavy to the feel and of a good build quality. Overall sound was above par (not perfect but heck for the price point, far better then most in-ear bullet type and on ear types for sure) Bottom line: For under $12 bucks (US) you absolutely cannot go wrong with these headphones for normal everyday use. If you are looking for super bass response or ultra high fidelity, then these are definitely not the way to go, but if like me, you just need some good monitor headphones for your mix board or something to plug in to your tablet to listen to music or a movie, at this price point you are assured a good deal - and after all, that is essentially what we all want... a good deal! And while not what I would call super high fidelity sound quality, the frequency response is "good" - bass is good, treble is good... no rumble etc. Overall build quality is also "good" - again, we are talking about a mass produced item primarily made of plastic and its incredible how good it feels and sounds right out of the box. I am confident in saying that at just $12 bucks you are going to have a really tough time finding anything better than these headphones. I'm glad I purchased them. And you will be too!

A very nice surprise.
I kept looking at these and feeling like their price and age on the market surely means they aren't that great.. and while they are feature poor at their core, these monitor headphones are the best price to performance buy I have ever made for headphones. I use(d) ATH-M20x's, and while those are great - I wish I had known how truly nice these really were first. I cannot say enough of my surprise, sitting down and trying them with a huge dose of skepticism. The more I listened the more impressed I was, and the more surprised I was that these were only $12. Any audiophile in a studio setting where every - high dollar - monitoring ability matter...these won't be for you. But to a small music producer on a budget, or video editor, or quiet night music listener, and so on...These are a great find. Audio is subjective, and everyone hears things a little differently. In my opinion these capture a huge range of raw audio and deliver it back to my ears perfectly by my standards. -They are super light and comfortable -They don't offer great audio reproduction -They have a 3.5 to 1/4 inch adapter No built in on ear controls. I highly recommend.

Good budget headphones with some trade-offs
Good budget headphones with some trade-offs I picked up the Behringer HPM1000 headphones mainly as a backup pair for casual listening and for when I don’t want to risk my more expensive set. For the price, they do a respectable job. The sound quality is surprisingly decent for budget headphones — clear mids and highs, with bass that is present but not especially deep or powerful. They’re perfectly fine for podcasts, streaming, or light music listening, but probably not for audiophiles or heavy bass fans. Comfort is okay but not outstanding. The earcups are padded, though they feel a little stiff and can get warm after longer sessions. The headband has some cushioning, but after a couple of hours you definitely notice the pressure. Build quality is what you’d expect at this price point — lightweight plastic that feels a bit fragile, but functional if handled with care. Things to keep in mind: the cable is non-detachable and fairly long, which can be a pro or con depending on your setup. They also don’t isolate sound very well, so they’re best used in a quiet environment. Bottom line: If you want a low-cost pair of headphones for everyday use or as a spare, the HPM1000 delivers decent sound for the money. Just don’t expect premium comfort or durability.

Very nice for the price
Update 27 Aug 2021 (see below for my original review): It's been over 2 years now of daily use around the house and I'm still extremely happy with the Behringer HPM1000 headphones - so much so that I put them on today and thought I ought to update this review. I see that the price has gone up, (currently $38 vs $13 when I bought them), and I'm honestly not surprised, I think they were a steal at the price I paid. I'm not an audiophile, but I enjoy making and listening to music and spoken word. I don't know what other headphones are available for $40, there may be better options, but I don't care. I'm happy with these, and you'll probably be happy with them too if you decide to buy. Also, since I didn't mention it in my original review, these are very comfortable for me. I wear them for hours at a time with no pain or discomfort. My only complaint is that my ears can get a bit warm and moist after several hours, but I just give them a break and let them air out for a few minutes and then I'm good for another round. Original review: I paid about $13 for these, and have no regrets. I've been using them daily at home for over a year now and they still look brand new. Read some of the other reviews and understand the meaning of "studio headphones" in terms of sound response, they have a fairly flat response unlike most headphones meant for music listening. That said, I listen to music with them unequalized almost daily and it honestly sounds fine to me, much better than in-ear buds that cost twice as much as these. In terms of durability, I treat mine pretty well, but have accidentally yanked on the cable/dropped them a few times and had no problems. They seem well-built for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair if needed.

Worked well for the wife for several years. Not the best, but good value for the money.
Worked well for the wife for several years. Not the best, but good value for the money. Decent volume and relatively clear audio quality. Cord length adequate. Easy to use.

Epic doesn't have to be expensive.
Yeah, I'm exaggerating, but only a little. These headphones sound great. For $10, you need to be braindead to go and buy a $50+ headphone. Yeah, the cushions on the ear could be a little bit better, but if you need cheap sound quality, these are your buy. For $10, they offer some really good sound quality. However, there is barely any noise-isolation for low-volume sounds. So if you need a noise-isolating pair, this might not be what your looking for. And these leak noise at a moderate point. If you want to melt your brains with the sound, expect someone to say something, however lower-moderate sounds the sound won't leak as much. Finally, the two last things you should know are the fact that this comes with one moderately long cable. I estimate it to be 4-5feet by looking at it. So if you need to go down to the grocery store listening to your music at home, you're gonna want a cable extender. And the other part is that these things can get pretty loud. Depending on the volume of the actual track you listening to, and the volume on the device you have these plugged into, you won't have any trouble hearing. Overall, great set, for a low price. One more note, if you're getting these for yourself, or a little one, be advised that these will fit medium to larger heads. When I first tried them on, I was thinking that the headphones would be too big since I have an average size head. They look big, and they are. They currently are a pretty good fit, but these are more for people with heads between medium and large.

The sound rendering is excellent and extremely true to what is actually being recorded ...
Firstly, buyers need to understand that these are NOT normal consumer headphones for tv, movies, or music. These are for monitoring audio EXACTLY as it sounds as it enters an audio recording device or mixing board. I bought these as studio monitoring headphones to use with my linear PCM recorder (a Tascam dr-05) connected to a boom pole setup (an XLR shotgun microphone, mounted on a pole, that feeds into the recorder with a regular mini jack). For the price I was not expecting very much. I was VERY surprised at the quality and accuracy of the audio. The sound rendering is excellent and extremely true to what is actually being recorded which is exactly what you want for studio monitors. There is no unnecessary boosting of bass, treble, or vocals and the volume on these babies is perfect. My only complaint with this product is that the build quality SEEMS slightly low, as they feel like the outer casing is made of thin plastic. I have owned these for over a year now and have put them through normal durability punishment and they have held up great! I have been especially hard on the headband adjustment clips (usually the first thing to break) and they have held up extremely well considering everything I have thrown at them. So while they "feel" as though the outer casing is cheaply made, they are, in fact, quite durable and sturdy. I will be buying 2-3 more of these exact units so my whole crew can listen and monitor. Based solely on this product, BEHRINGER is now a name I trust and associate with extreme quality AND excellent value.

Bought this in January 2020; works but now the ear cups are deteriorating
Bought this item in January 2020 to use in a Zoom on-line class. Because the the ear cups are deteriorating prompted me to search back in my Amazon orders and write this review. I made the decision to buy these headphones because of the brand name Behringer, decent reviews and value. They did work as advertised when I bought them, and they still work now, but the outside material of the ear cups are deteriorating, leaving back particles in and outside my ear after each use. As far as use and wear, I used them 2-3 times a week for 3 months for the class, and then used them sparingly ever since. Very disappointed in the ear hole surround material material is deteriorating. It should last longer than four years. I have old Panasonic headphones that are over 30 years old and the ear hole material is still good, so it can be done. I would not buy these headphones for long-term use unless you only need a cheap pair of headphones for a short time and are going to dispose of them after.
