This was a win purchase!
I bought about 10 blocks of this stuff to use for my garden beds. It took a while to get a system that worked for me, but it's good. I used a shovel to split the blocks because they do not absorb as well or as fast as I hoped. Once I did that, I filled a wheelbarrow with water and placed them in, moving them around and submerging them so they would break down. One big block fills a wheelbarrow. Then I used a small bucket to dump into my beds over my compost. The only thing I wish I'd done was put dirt over the compost first, then add this, then more dirt. I feel like it was a waste to have it so low, but who knows? I could be wrong. Next time, I will do that instead, so my veggies have their roots in it. Over all I have zero complaints. It's def a process,s but I found a better way after about the 4th block. Also, I did try soaking a full block overnight, but it didn't work. It only softened about 1" in. You have to submerge it with weight if you don't break it up like the pics. Hope this helps! Also, for context, the beds are 8x4, so they are deep.

Great purchase
I absolutely love this brand. It is so fluffy and absorbable. After adding water it almost filled up my 27 gallon tote. I made the mistake of purchasing another brand that didn't compare to this one at all. This will be my go to brand for all of my garden seasons for years to come💜

Game-Changer for Growing: Sustainable, Versatile, and Perfect for Healthy Plants!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using the Coco Coir Brick Organic Coconut Coir for my grow setups, and I’m thrilled with the results. These compressed bricks are compact, easy to store, and expand significantly when rehydrated. Here’s a detailed breakdown with tips and tricks to help you get the most out of this amazing product.First Impressions:The product arrived well-packaged, with three 850g bricks that are lightweight and easy to handle. Each brick rehydrates into a soft, fluffy medium with excellent texture and water retention. I immediately noticed the low EC, meaning it has minimal salt content, making it safe for plants right out of the box.Rehydration Tips:Warm Water for Quick Expansion:Place one brick in a 5-gallon bucket and add about 1.5-2.5 gallons of warm water. Warm water helps the coir break apart faster and ensures even rehydration.Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then fluff it up with your hands or a small garden tool. It breaks right up.Adjust Water Amounts for Specific Uses:For container gardening, fully hydrate the brick to get the fluffiest, most aerated texture. For hydroponics or seed starting, use a bit less water to maintain slight firmness, as it retains moisture better.Pro Tip – Buffering the Coir:Even though this product is pre-buffered, I always take an extra step for my plants:Soak in Cal-Mag Solution: Mix 5-10ml of Cal-Mag per gallon of water and soak the rehydrated coir for 6-12 hours. This prevents calcium and magnesium deficiencies, which coco coir can sometimes cause.Rinse Thoroughly: After soaking, rinse the coir with clean water to remove excess salts. This ensures a perfect growing medium for even the most sensitive plants.Mixing for Optimal Results:I find the best results come when coco coir is combined with:30% Perlite: Enhances drainage and prevents overwatering.10% Compost or Worm Castings: Adds natural nutrients and beneficial microbes.Optional Additives: A touch of biochar for pH stability or vermiculite for added water retention. This mix works exceptionally well for all types of plants, from vegetables to herbs, and even cannabis. Why This Product Stands Out:Sustainable and Organic: Made from renewable coconut husks and free from harmful chemicals, making it eco-friendly.Low EC: Ready to use with minimal salt interference.Excellent Water Retention and Drainage: Perfect for plants that need consistent hydration without becoming waterlogged.Versatile Applications: I’ve used it for seedlings, hydroponics, container gardening, and even as a soil conditioner in outdoor beds.Storage and Maintenance Tips:Unused Coir: If you don’t use all the rehydrated coir, let it dry completely and store it in an airtight container to prevent mold or pests.Long-Term Use: Reuse the coir by flushing it thoroughly between plant cycles to remove any buildup of salts or nutrients. Results:Since switching to these coco coir bricks, my plants have shown better root development, faster growth, and healthier foliage. The difference is noticeable, especially compared to soil-based mediums. If you’re looking for an affordable, sustainable, and high-quality growing medium, this product is a must-have. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced growers alike! This is my honest and non paid review of this product and the benefits you can add to your grow with this product.

Nice
💯 definitely clean. I broke up the brick into 3 5 gallon buckets and added lots of water. One brick produced “soap like bubbles”. Not sure if it was soap this the 4 stars. Plants are growing great. No smell other than nature. Expansion is hard to tell as I mixed it with some soil to fill 25 gallon containers for my outdoor grow. So far I’m happy except for the soap.
