Heaven's Hell Paperback – September 30, 2015

Great artwork! Ive been a long time fan of Anthony Jones, Its great having such good art for reference and inspiration!!

Great art book.

I have mixed feelings about leaving a review at all. We went to Wonder Con and my son bought a copy of this book. I didn't see it until we were on our way home, and said, "I want a copy." So, I looked on Amazon and found the book here for less than it was selling for at the Con. SCORE! Then I wondered why the book has such a low Reviewer rating. The artwork is fantastic! Then I read the reviews and found out there was a Kickstarter almost 3 years ago to fund this book, and it brought in over $55,000. Backers are saying they never received their books, and many of them were refunded for their pledges. So, here's my take:The book: It's well constructed and beautifully printed on high gloss, thick paper. It seems to be of very high quality.The Art: The artwork is SPECTACULAR. Anthony Jones tells you in the Introduction that it's his vision of what things in the afterlife "might" look like, so it's not a flowing story. It's snapshots of his vision. I love it.The background/Kickstarter: This is where I dropped a star in the rating. Seeing what happened to the backers of the project, I would not buy this book again. The Kickstarter updates are only visible to backers, but the comments speak volumes. Some people got refunds, and others seem to have been forgotten. No one seems pleased on the KS site.Very mixed feelings on my part because I love this book but can't support someone who essentially took fund money, promised product, and didn't deliver.

My girlfriend loves it.

It's art seems rushed and rough. The imagery is ok, but I cant get over the fact the art looks unfinished or very amateur(out of proportion body parts, wonky perspectives).

I wasn't part of the kickstarter so I have a different view of the book. I liked it. I agree with another reviewer that said this book was a missed opportunity. The artist had written a description to some of his paintings. It would have been nice if he continued that format through out the book. Some of the paintings did look unfinished but I like that kind of art. The tutorial are short but interesting. I found them informational but I believed he could have done more. Overall I enjoyed the artist's book and his artwork.

I dont really know what to make out of this book, I guess I just had too high of an expectations from the Artist that weren't met. it contains art from the imaginations of the Artist and a little tutorial at the end. Content to Price ratio is the reason for the 3 stars.

Hi Anthony Jones,I'm one of the kickstarter backers that backed your project now over 2 years ago...I can't believe you went ahead and started selling the book in amazon, design studio and other places... while the backers who backed your project and gave you over $50,000 have gotten jack squat...That's pretty weak and there's no excuse for that other than you showing some snake colors. Please be a man and send the f???? Ing books to your backers.
