Excellent book, and plenty to learn from. The delivery and method of payment was excellent. Unfortunately, the school where I took the course didn't want the book for the next semester; that is why it is cheaper to buy on Amazon versus at the bookstore...

Easy read, many resources cited.

Old white dudes probably wrote this book, and it's pretty obvious. It has a lot of potential, what with the zeitgeist + great person perspective intersecting, and the "enduring questions." However, 90% of the people mentioned in the text are the "great" white dudes of history that we've all heard about before, with small shoehorned sections on other groups of people that feel forced and disingenuous. Also there are no in-text citations, just a list of references at the end of each chapter, which makes it even more difficult to be a critical consumer of the text.

I really needed it for school fast so I thought this was a good choice but it was very expensive and at the same time it had water marks all over it... I had to wrap it in order to be able to take it to school but yeah.. Other friends got better deals and better books so meh/:

A very Western-focused book but helpful as a literary tool nonetheless
