How To Solve The Rubik's Cube: The official guide to completing the world’s most famous puzzle! Paperback – September 6, 2018

I had been trying to learn how to solve the cube by using online websites for weeks. None of them worked for me so I decided to try this book. With the book's help I solved the cube in under an hour. Have repeated the process a few times this week and have it down to less than 20 minutes. With practice, I'm confident I can get that down to around 5 minutes.

They do describe each step with a complete set of moves needed. There is however some simplifications that could be made by representing some of those moves by the lefty and righty algs. Its easier to remember the moves with the simplification since lot of the moves are simply two repeated set of moves.

I was not successful with the first method I tried, but this book helped me understand and then to DO the cube. With a lot of practice and going over and over the algorithims in the book, I can now do the Rubiks cube in about 5 minutes using the beginner method. Next working on the other design configurations you can do after getting all the sides to match up.

I'm an 81 year old geriatric male who decided to lean how to solve the Rubik's Cube after watching a young kid do it with amazing speed. I ordered this book to help me get started because around 50 years ago I had solved a cube with the help of a book. Times have changed. Fifty years ago Youtube did not exist. Now there are hundreds of videos on Youtube with instruction in their idea of the easiest way to solve the cube. You can now follow along with a video. Some videos are better than others for a variety of reasons.The book has some interesting facts about the history of the cube and the total number of permutations. That said it is probably better to spend the money for the book on a better and smoother moving cube. At this point in time the book is only useful for people without Internet.

This book is helpful and easy to follow for future Rubik's Cube players.

Our 11 yo solved the cube in 2-3 days with this book. Talk about giving a techie kid a self esteem boost!

This book has everything! It starts with the history of the cube and then shows some basic terminology, and then uses that terminology to show a simple way to solve it. Then it shows a way that experts solve it. Have you seen those kids who spend a minute looking at the cube, turning it over and over in their hands, and then they solve it in less than 10 seconds? I think this book provides the way in which they do it, but I haven't tried that yet. There are also some instructions on how to make cool patterns (see picture).My family had the original solution book from around 1980, which we lost or gave away. But I still remember the moves, which are different than either of the methods shown in this book. This modern book takes it to another level. Well done!!!
