I'm very impressed with the sound, it is the best I have ever heard ! The controls can be a little tough to weed through, but isn't terrible, it can be hard to plug in the usb cord, due to the case opening being a little wider than the usb plug in, the latest update is very nice, I really like being able to delete songs, or mark them as a favorite, I'm hoping to see an update at sometime, that allows the usb cord to plug to be directly plugged into a usb port on a radio, it does not do that currently, the spare micro sd card reader is nice for on the go "otg" access.I did get a blue screen pop up with some gibberish on it once, and the controls wouldn't respond, shutting it off, and restarting it worked.the E12 amp is very nice, and you don't have to turn the volume down on the X 5 to keep your ears from being blown out, since the volume control being used is in the E 12, battery life is good.overall I would recommend this to a friend, and I really like it

This was the best purchase I've made in a long time. I can't describe how much better this FiiO X5 player and E12 amplifier sound compared tomy 160 gb classic iPod. Very impressive build of the player and the amp and stylish to boot. I bought a 128 gb SanDisk to go with the 64 gbSanDisk that came as part of this very impressive package so now I have 192 gb to fill with music from my huge library. The price for everythingin this package is very low and about as good as it gets for an audio slave. Nothing but props for this player and of course this seller. Thanks!

X5 spring-loaded lever for the micro-SD card in slot 1 failed coupla weeks ago. SD card stuck inside. Amazon CS staff just does not understand issue : that I do not jus tneed a replacement but I needed to have the SD card extracted and returned to me. In the end, had to return X5 directly to FiiO for them to extract card, replace the lever n send unit back to me at a cost, even tho unit was under warranty! Not impressed with Amazon CS staff on this occasion..

this combo rocks! While it is not a lightweight unit, I took it on a 9-mile run in the pocket of my rucksack and it survived fine (I love solid state, no HD to shake apart like my late-and-great Zune), and on a 24 mile run in the pocket of a running vest. I used it with a Sennheiser running headset for running with the X5 only, also sounded great with the Sennheiser IE800. I tried it with the Mont Blanc with Sennhieser HD800 and Audeze LC3 phones and the X5+Mont Blanc sounded way better than the price would suggest - they were great and there was ample power.

Really solid built quality. great sounding. great battery life. great storage capacity. couple downsides: the precise of the scrolling wheel and the interface are not that accurate and friendly. Over all, it is worth every penny of it. i have been using this player on daily basis of 4-5 hours a day. it is still working like a charm.

The unit was not new as described and did not work upon arrival. It had obviously been returned as it was package incorrectly and the protective screen cover was so poorly applied it was obvious it was a return.The unit would not even do an initial charge and is probably the reason it was returned in the first place.

Absolutely love it - from the sound it produces to its build quality. The guys at ProStudio Sound & Music did a nice job on this package. Especially if you pair it up with a Media Bridge audio 3.5 MM cable and NAD's newest VISO HP50 headphones. I highly recommend this kit if you insist on hearing music at it's purest levels.
