Military Scout Survival Tin 2024

Can I give it ten stars? The previous version was worth 5 stars and was in my opinion the best on the market for what it was. I ordered one for every family member that I like. I recently noticed that the picture changed and I ordered the new version to see if it actually did change. It did. Much improved.Tin is larger, has mechanical clasps. The ferro rod is larger and much more usable. There appears to be more cordage and water purification tablets as well. There may be other changes that I didn't notice.And the tin holds water. It amazes me that some survival tins from other companies leak if you put water in it.It does not come in the MRE style packaging that the previous version usually came in. For what it's worth.Super happy with the update and will likely buy another round of kits for those family members that I like.

Fantastic value for what all you’re getting. I keep mine in my go bag and it covers all the essentials and still follows the “2 is 1 and 1 is none” philosophy. It is a little big to carry on your person but still doable

Such a thoughtfully crafted kit! I think it would be difficult to find the elusive “perfect compact survival kit” but from researching many other options, I’d say this comes pretty close. Every item in this tin is useful. As I looked over everything here, it seems like they cover all the bases. It would be nice to have a more substantial blade in the kit, but honestly I don’t think one could fit. This box is PACKED with goodies. I actually got some ranger bands to wrap around it to keep it shut. That’s how full it is. It covers 6 of the 10 C’s of survival (if you follow Dave Canterbury at all). This is kind of pricey, but it brings me joy to know all the capabilities of this kit.

Excellent small kit on the market to keep with you for the unexpected. Everything you need to go with food and water to survive.

Good quality, multiple items.Some great waterproof matches and also includes a couple of small candles which is not always the case.The ferro rod and striker are a little flimsy but serviceable, I also like the brass wire they provide for snare.Also a small signal mirror which is not pictured here but is in the small zip lock bag.Overall a good value and a great thing to have in the car, your boat or a BOB.Give one to everyone in the family so they at least have something to fall back on. It would also help if they knew how to use it, LOL

I cut some of the baggies to save some space, tossed the whistle, moved the razor and ferro rod into my wallet and was able to add a mini multi tool, a lighter and several days supply of medicine and Tylenol, and a pair of contacts. This is a excellent jumping off point for not getting caught with your pants down

Great shipping service!!! Arrived pretty quick and in good order, all the content seemed to be there and well within exp dates. You may want to replace a few of the items, but over all very good. I did replace the wire saw with a much heavier grade wire saw. If you are looking at building one from scratch it would be cheaper to buy this instead; trust me I did the math.There is room inside to add some additional items, I added a non-lubricated condom, two straws heat sealed at both ends with a lighter full of triple antibiotics, additional tender. replaced the tape with heavier grade tape, slapped three ranger bands on the outside and sliding a credit card size survival card under it and a high quality, thin knife (RSK MK5).

Product is overpriced and unusable. Also it is not eligible for returns and now I understand why.
