EXCELLENT ADVANCED LEVEL TEXT
AN EXCELLENT ADVANCED LEVEL COURSE FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS. REQUIRES WORK TO FOLLOW THE TEXT BUT WELL WORTH THE EFFORT. A GOOD REVIEW - ADVANCED LEVEL FOR 1ST GRADUATE SCHOOL LEVEL Q.M. COURSE. WORKS WELL WITH DIRAC'S TEXTBOOK.

Excellent Reintroduction to QM
I purchased this textbook to use in a graduate-level introductory course on quantum mechanics and have so far found it to be a great book for taking a more in-depth "introduction" to the subject beyond the graduate level. I think that starting with the Dirac formulation of quantum mechanics as exemplified by spin is a better way to introduce the subject than beginning with wavefunctions and Sakurai/Napolitano do a great job of explaining the concepts for students of all levels.

Well Written, but must have a background in QM already
This textbook is used in graduate-level quantum mechanics classes. You will need a strong background in linear algebra to be comfortable with the notation. It would be nice to have more examples, but it seems that the assumption is that you are already a bit comfortable with QM and solving problems.

Badly damaged in shipping
The book is an excellent text on quantum mechanics. However, it arrived badly damaged, though still readable.

A standard textbook.
Typical physics textbook, can be confusing at times unless you've already learnt this elsewhere.

Not my field of expertise but I know my son will be thrilled with this book. It arrived in excellent condition & is wrapped up for Christmas.

Sakurai is a great conceptual bridge between undergraduate quantum mechanics and field theory — but its strength lies in presentation, not depth. It’s inspiring for first-time graduate students, but less impactful for readers who already understand the algebraic backbone of quantum mechanics from QFT. The first few chapters are elegant but not always crystal clear — especially the density matrix and matrix element discussions.

Ottimo manuale. Un classico. ben spiegato e ben argomentato.

O livro está escrito de uma forma clara e o formalismo matemático está adequado. Não é um livro para iniciantes, ele está voltado para alunos de ciências exatas nos últimos de graduação ou para estudantes de pós.
