Fixed my internet connect speed!!!!!!!
My cable company is T*me W*rn*r (now Sp*ctr*m) and I pay for a 300Mbs internet connection. Seems about once a year-ish the connection starts to fail and the speed drops to about 15Mbs. Which means I have to call the cable company and I spend thirty minutes on the phone where they have me restart my computer.... restart my modem..... all the while they say the modem seem to be working from their end. Of course all this restarting makes the connection work for about an hour max. Eventually, after a second call they will send someone out to check... usually next week. The last time the repairman said it was all within specs and it must be my modem.... nothing he could do. I would have to replace my modem. I purchase my own modems as they pay for themselves quickly verse the monthly cable fee (plus I can get a modem/WiFi which the cable company charges extra for). So I replace my modem and nothing changes. Which requires another call to the cable company where the new repairman says it's all within specs again but "let me try something". He goes outside..... messes with something..... BAM! it all works again. ???? So I started reading on on the web and how splitters can go bad over time and simply just need to be replaced. So my last resent incident I bought this splitter because of its high rating and went to town. I replaced the older cable company one with it. Note you might need a security wrench to remove the connection to your old splitter..... I did ($10?). At the same time I switched the 1 to 4 splitter from the cable company to this 1 to 2 and then added a 1 to 3 also. So from the 1 to 2 splitter a cable goes directly to my modem without any more splitting and the other cable goes to the 1 to 3 splitter for the rest of the HD cable boxes in the house. WOW... imaging that. My 300Mbs connection has returned!!! On a side note all the HD cable boxes still function perfectly also. I am hoping because this splitter was so highly rated that it will last longer than a year and way longer than the ones supplied by the cable company. IF it does fail at some time I am just going to replace it and forget about calling the cable company (they just waste too much of my time).

Works well
Works well, but can't testify as to endurance yet. Clean threads receive the hex collars well. It comes with two small machine screws that I assume are meant to attach the box to something. It would probably be better to ditch those and include a couple of wood or sheet metal screws. I mounted mine on a wall joist with wood screws. Would be 5 stars with useable screws. I did not test the bi-directional feature. I really don't know what that means, but it must be something someone finds attractive - no benefit if you install it correctly the first time.
