It’s good to get down to the basics of Drawing and this book is really simple.

Found the guides helpful to keep everything proportionate. I'm a total beginner so I'm very happy with these results!

Great step by steps and well worded art book! Mine came with a chunk missing out of the back cover for some reason; doesn't hurt the pages, but perhaps an issue in shipping.

We have two sisters among our grandchildren, who are budding artists. Purchased several books about learning to draw basics for them to share with the one on drawing flowers, advance to Drawing animals, and now people and faces.The processes shown have guided them into doing much more. A great beginning for those interested in drawing art

I bought this book and a sketchbook for my first grader and he has been diligently working through it. He is better at details than proportions, but he is loving it.

I am a good drawer and my son was very interested in how I do it. I tried to explain the best I could, but eventually bought this book because I remember learning from similar ones as a kid.Each animal involves six steps to draw. Some of them that's all you need, but others they basically start on what would have been step 3 for any other animal. Like the giraffe.... 1. Draw the entire giraffe body, neck, and head, 2. add the top half of the legs, 3. add the bottom half of the legs, 4. add hair, 5. add spots. 6. Ta da! Giraffe". If drawing a legless, spotless giraffe is so easy, why are there six steps to drawing a goose? Also, things like belugas obviously don't need six steps. 1. draw an oval, 2. give it fins, 3. it's a beluga.That being said, it does teach the basics of observing the general composition of an animal to the untrained eye of one who would otherwise not know where to start.
