Taste is actually good.
I was hesitant based off some reviews but gave it a shot. I did notice some pieces off color but as expected for a freeze dried vegetable. The flavor was really good actually a little sweet and I fully enjoyed eating as is as a crunchy snack. I haven't tried in any recipe yet because I'm enjoying them as a snack as they are right out of the jar. Definitely a great snack to put in a bag for a nature walk.

Mother Earth freeze dried products are really good
Always good value in these products. Long shelf life, good taste and appearance. Great for cooking. Even my dogs love the broccoli for snacks.

Great for backpacking/camping & emergency meals
I've been getting into backpacking recently and a hot meal on the trail is GOLD. I love Mountain House meals, but they can get pretty expensive when you're camping for a week and eating 3 meals a day. I wanted to create a DIY just-add-hot-water recipe for Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Rice and decided to try Mother Earth's freeze-dried broccoli. I am really impressed by the texture and the large pieces. It reconstitutes really easily with the recipe I tested out. The container came with actual big chunks of broccoli and not just a bunch of powder. So far from my first trail run with the recipe, I think it works great. It's good quality, easy to use, stores well, and will last a long time. Recipe (1 serving): - 1 tablespoon Mother Earth's freeze-dried broccoli - 2 heaping teaspoons of Hoosier Hill Farm Big Daddy Mac - 1 teaspoon of chicken bouillon - 1/2 cup of instant rice - 1/2 cup of boiling water -1 tablespoon freeze-dried chicken Just mix all the ingredients together, cover, and let sit for 9 minutes. It's easy to make. It will be great for my camping trips and doesn't cost as much as Mountain House. I also have extra to store at home for backup Emergency Meals. I highly recommend.

Good Stuff
I work in the backcountry of Montana and coordinate meal planning for camping groups. We like to provide high-quality meals (working hard on trails and camping), but must balance the limited weight and space for packing on horses and mules. We tried several brands this summer for dehydrated and freeze-dried food. This brand was one of the best we tried and seemed slightly more economically priced. All staff seemed to prefer the freeze-dried versions versus dehydrated food: the taste and nutrients were better for freeze-dried. Sometimes dehydrated food can lose flavor and have chewy consistency even when re-hydrated. The broccoli bits were great for stir fry or to add into mashed potatoes. I think they would be a bit boring as a stand-alone meal item.

Our dog loves it!
Our dog has health issues and has been put on a special diet food that he really doesn’t like due to it being bland. He loves broccoli so when we do not have fresh broccoli in the refrigerator, we grind this freeze dried broccoli in the food processor and put about a half teaspoon on his dry kibble. A little sprinkle of water is even better to really distribute the broccoli flavor. He loves it and great to have for the dog sitter when we are traveling.

Ok product, half broken up into dust
I got this for dog treats, my dog loves broccoli. And overall it worked great. But half the container worth was just dust in the bottom. This one must have had a rough travels? So for 1/2 of what expected, totally not worth the money.

Great Snacking Food
Crunchy, tasty, and healthy. I love these bits of broccoli. I disagree with the person who said it discolored after opening. It has stayed the same during the weeks after opening mine. And the pieces are fine whether they are the stalks or the flowers since I'm just eating them dry, like popcorn but a handful at a time - in fact I prefer the stalks. Perfect for eating something crunchy to keep me away from the potato chips!

Better than frozen
I bought these because I kept having bad experiences with the frozen broccoli at my local grocery store (it was full of gristle and unchewable). I throw a handful in my InstantPot with rice or soup, and it always comes out tender and tastes good. I haven't tried any other methods of cooking, so don't know how well it would work for other purposes. As an added benefit, I can toss them on my shelf instead of using up precious freezer or fridge space. I like it enough I've re-ordered it 6 times now.
