Q: Is the photocell water resistant?

I put one in for my post light two months ago. I coated the body joints with silicon to protect it from water even though it is enclosed inside the light post. Two months later it stopped working and I observed moisture around the sensor and the sensor seems corroded. Very frustrated and finally I found that the sensor cover can be easily popped out (no seal in between). The cover was just snapped in so no wonder the water can get in easy. I have another new one and this time I coated the part of the cover with silicon then I push it in to the sensor holder to seal any possible leakage. I think this will definitely stop the moisture penetration. I will also apply another thin coat of silicon around the sensor cover to be sure. Such an easy improvement and I wonder why the manufacture neglect it.

Q: Can this photocell withstand LED lights.

If you mean, handle the amps, I would say yes. LED lights actually use lower amps then halogens and cfls. The VA rating for this switch is 850, which (at 120v) effectively means it can handle around 7 amps (850/120). The description also states "Works with incandescent, fluorescent, LED, halogen, mercury vapor or high pressure sodium bulbs"

Q: If the light it turns on brightens the yard, will it think it's "daylight" now and then turn off all the lights?

It might be an issue depending on how it is installed. If the light fixtures is such that the photocell points directly at the bulb or at a very brightly illuminated surface, then it might get confused and flicker on and off. If that's your situation, get one of the other units that can be pointed in a direction where it won't see as much light from the fixture that it is controlling.

Q: Can you Please tell me the diameter of the sensor?

5/8 inch for the sensor. Body is to be mounted with 7/8 inch nut (provided with the unit). The unit fits through a standard 3/4 inch electrical knock-out.
