This is by far the cleanest and most transparent brand of Whey Protein. They tell you exactly where they get it from and are 100% transparent about their processes. Sure it may be a little pricier but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for clean ingredients as far as whey protein goes, this is it. It is a neutral flavor profile, you can sweeten it however you like, it gives you that much more control. If you are looking for cheap, this isn't for you. This product is for those who care, those who want to know where their things are coming from and want to back a product that is clean and in summary, premium. Overall, still pretty affordable in my opinion.

This whey is absolutely worth the price. A rare find: it is high quality organic whey protein without lecithin or any other additives or preservatives, sweeteners or flavors, and is not an isolate. It is ALSO from Jersey cows with a higher A2 protein ratio, and produced with regenerative farming approaches—it doesn't get much better in the States. It also happens to taste great and blend well in smoothies! I'm super sold on this product.

I have been working out on and off for more than 10 years. The regular classic whey offering from Norcal is the best in my opinion. I have tried quite a few whey protein products before, but none are at the standard of Norcal Classic. I have had stomach aches and problems with all of the other whey products but I can't recall if I ever had a stomach issue with Norcal. It's quickly digested after work out and provides noticeable energy prior to work out as well. I am not be able to drink other whey proteins without it being flavored or blended, but I can drink Norcal classic with just water. It has a very neutral light milk taste. There were a few times when the flavor was off in the past few years I have been ordering from them, but they are more or less consistent. Even when the taste was off, it did not stop me from finishing the bag. My only gripe is with the plastic scooper they provide in the bag. My worry is that pieces of plastic from the scooper will find its way in the powder. I have purchased norcal whey for 4-5 years and will most likely continue to do so. I will not use any other protein powder or prepackaged drink. I would recommend this whey protein to anyone looking for a high quality protein supplement.

First, I hate to leave reviews, especially a bad one. This is the second in my whole life. I’ve purchased this classic whey and their whey with the sunflower lecithin many times. The taste was never an issue. I don’t mind the taste of unflavored whey a bit, nor most supplements, for that matter, because it’s a small price to pay for the potential upside. This batch, however, has made me reassess this and ultimately drove me to cancelling my subscription to this product. It tastes like someone is mucking a horse stall in my mouth, like you’d imagine how the bottom of a goat manger tastes. I mixed two scoops, chugged as I usually do, and spent the next hour trying not to vomit, though in hindsight it may have been the safer option, in case this lot is tainted. I reached out to the company to ask if this lot number was recalled or if any other complaints were made, but never heard back. So I guess this is my response to having paid $60 on a tainted product that could not be refunded.

I like the quality and appreciate that it comes from the US but I wish the packaging was different because there is loss if transferred from the zip bag. I would like a container rather than a bag.

If you want the source of your whey to be organic and hormone free with grass fed cows, there are few choices to pick from. Nor Cal met those standards and even though it is expensive compared to non organic whey, this company had the best price. I don't care for their packaging. Wish they would design something easier to scoop out the powder. I take out the powder from their package and pour it into a glass jar but even so, the packaging is stiff and hard to work with.
