Mission: Impossible 6 Movie Collection

I got these for a great deal on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Slipcover not super mint, more very good. Rattle inside the case, random broken blue bit that didn’t damage the movies and I can’t find where it came from lol. Two fingerprints on the first movie lol; movie still played fine, must be an MI code. :P Other discs mint.I’ve seen all but 2 and Fallout.Mission Impossible: classic, still excellent, still memorable, maybe the picture quality isn’t as sharp as the more recent ones, but it is an older movie. CGI scenes may look better for the lower quality, however.Mission Impossible 2: too much. Just too much, and not better for it. I do love the free climb in the beginning. Around the break in scene, I started noticing vertical lines in the backgrounds. Thought it was my TV, wasn’t my TV. Maybe the movie was shot like this? It got really distracting. That, plus at least 4 WTF plot holes, and this is the also ran of the series. Still worth a watch for all that.Mission Impossible 3: your mission, should you choose to accept it, is the orange lambo and Maggie Q’s red dress. Mission achiev . . . *drool* wait, what was the mission? Miss you, PSH.MI Ghost Protocol: Dubai is still so fun, but I don’t really love the opening or ending.MI Rogue Nation: the high water mark of the series. Just everything is good about this. The motorcycle scene is how to do that scene right; I’m talking to you, MI2. I do feel like it’s missing a line of dialogue? When Ilsa says, “Shoes. Shoes, please.” and Ethan’s supposed to return to the earlier line of “I like them” before she repeats herself. Hmm. Doubtful I missed it, as I was waiting for it. Loved it the first time I saw the movie. Hmm. Hopefully they didn’t drop that for whatever reason (or my subconscious inserted it because it’s the right beat there, ha). But could also be lost in the blu ray audio compared with cinema and dvd audio.MI Fallout: a little disappointing after the hype. Not really worse than the previous 3, but I was expecting another high water mark, and RN still tops this movie for me. Maybe because it feels like an extension of RN, and not really its own movie? Still a lot to like, still far better than the second one. The bathroom fight is a highlight.Came with a bonus disc for Fallout, which you could hide under the digital card and replace with the next movie.Spoiler:I’m glad Ving is in all of them. It makes them work better, and gives more purpose to 2, which could be a throwaway movie without him.

No, it won't - just kidding LOL. I am a huge fan of the original Mission Impossible TV show that ran from 1966 to 1973 for 7 seasons. It was created by Bruce Geller and visionary beyond its time. Its basic premise was a group of top secret agents hired to eliminate the most dangerous criminals who could not be captured by conventional law agencies. Their tactics were mostly elaborate stunts (involving highly advanced electronic gadgetry) to trick the enemies and get them to reveal a secret information or create a situation which led to them being captured and eliminated. It was one of my favorite shows growing up in Turkey and it was called "Gorevimiz Tehlike" which literally means: "Danger is our Mission".What is amazing about the Mission Impossible movie franchise is that it gets better with each movie which is very odd. Most franchises suffer with each installment as the new movies become less interesting, run out of ideas, becomes to formulaic, etc. That's normally the case with most franchises but Mission Impossible is an exception. Strangely, Mission Impossible movies keep getting better!4K transfers of all films are very good except the first movie, Mission Impossible I (1996) is grainy and snowy. I was expecting a better 4K transfer. I didn't see a difference from the blu ray version of the same movie. 4K transfers of all other 5 movies are very good. Mission Impossible 3 had some playback issues in the beginning (another reviewer also mentioned the playback problem with the 3rd movie). It froze in the first 5 minutes but then played on.As for the movies:Mission Impossible 1 (3 stars): I think this is a decent motion picture translation of the TV show and is loyal to the concept of the original show, however it has some plot flaws and a ridiculously unrealistic action scenes at the end. Still, very entertaining movie overall.Mission Impossible 2 (1 star): This is my least favorite MI movie. The love affair sub-plot is not working. It's basic premise is too similar to Alfred Hitchcock's "Notorious" (1946). There are ridiculous action scenes towards the end, making it look like a typical Hollywood action flick. I was certain after MI-2 that the franchise would be over. i am glad I was proven wrong.Mission Impossible 3 (3 stars): Much better effort than the MI-2. Still some ridiculous action scenes (the military planes bombing the bridge) but it has some redeeming points. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great as a villain.Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol (5 stars); In my opinion, this is where Mission Impossible rose to a whole new level. It was totally loyal to the original MI concept, great story, great action scenes, great acting (Jeremy Renner was awesome and so was Paula Patton). Dubai skyscraper climb segment is my most favorite segment in all of the 6 films and it looks totally amazing on 4K.Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation (5 star): Another great installment in the franchise with fresh ideas, elements and a great story. Rebecca Ferguson is amazing (amazingly gorgeous, amazing acting and her character was a great addition to the story).Mission Impossible 6: Fallout (5 stars): My favorite movie in the entire franchise. It's edge of the seat entertainment from start to finish.The way the Mission Impossible franchise seems to get better with each movie, I cannot wait to see the next movie.This package comes with all the blu ray movies as well. All 6 blu ray films are in one thick case; and the 4k films are in a slimmer case. Only constructive feedback I can give is that I wish they had all the special features on the 4K discs so there would be no need to keep the blu ray discs. Also, not sure if you are buying 4K films, do you need blu ray copies (then again this question goes for all movies that come as blu ray /DVD combo)

I have been working on replacing my old V.H.S.'s & D.V.D.'s. It is important to me because the Dr's say if I survive long enough, I won't be able to walk. But don't worry friends I'm still trucking! Enough about me, these movies are top notch quality, & much better than I remembered them being. I was surprised at how affordable this entire franchise was! (Yes, I popped for the new Blu-Ray). How could I not at this price...especially in today's economy! I doubt you can find this many hours of " Spy adventure for the price on Blu-Ray!!! Not touching the " James Bond" collection for this price on Blu-Ray. Or " Jason Bourne" or " Jack Ryan" or any lengthy collection in this genre...but then again, they're not as lengthy! The Mission Impossible Franchise is, a more technologically advanced " James Bond"! It had been years since I watched the 3 V.H.S. cassettes. And 1 D.V.D., so I had a lot of new material to catch up on! This series just keeps getting better & better...a rarity in sequels, but then again this is not a series of sequels. this is a legitimate series of fine action-adventure films. Now " Jaws" those are sequels..." UHGGG! " If you love the " James Bond" Franchise, you're going to really want to add this to your movie library! Purchase without hesitation...and quickly while the price is right!!!
