Good pump for the price
These last about a year and half with constant use (turning on every few minutes for 30 seconds or so).All moving parts will eventually wear out, so I am happy with that longevity and I am happy to not have to pay double for units that last just as long. These run reliably and are nice and quiet as long as you use the rubber feet provided and make sure the inlet and outlet hoses are not touching anything.

Good quality pump
I tried to use this continuously for my pool heater but had to keep turning it off for 15 minutes each 45 minutes to let it cool down because the motor was getting hot and I didn’t want to damage it. I’ve now repurposed it as a transfer pump for my camp trailer and it does fine. I now realize it’s not for continuous use, but it’s not designed to do so, so I’ll be getting one that is designed for continuous use.

Non standard threads on the inlet and outlet
My biggest complaint is that I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to find the reducer fittings that I need for this pump because it has male NPS threads. Most fittings have NPT threads and are not compatible. It's very frustrating. I'm using this pump for a drinking water transfer system with a soda gun at the end. The gun only works with 1/4 inch hose. Neither Shurflo, nor virtually any other company sells reducer fittings with 1/2 inch nps on one end and 1/4 inch ID barb or push to connect fittings on the other.

read the warranty
The warranty is one year from date of purchase two years from date of manufacture so if you put it on a shelf as a spare when you take it down it's probably already out of warranty and the brushes do not hold up well and you cannot buy a brush kit you have to buy an entire motorBut as poorly as they last the knock offs are even worse
