I was skeptical about passing my drinking water over unidentified crushed rocks from China. Still can’t say what they’re made of, but mine do have an alkaline pH and impart that to water from my filter. Be forewarned, a lot of mineral will dissolve into your water. I struggle with water spots and excessive deposits in my tea kettle while using these. Flavor of my water is much improved.
