3.5mm AUX Cable Switcher, 4 Input 1 Output, AUX 1/8" Source Stereo Splitter, Audio Selector Box, Signal Switch with Volume Control for Home Audio

I needed some thing for my computer to be able to easily switch sound output between my earbuds and my surround speakers. The inputs for both of my devices are 3.5 mm jacks so this works perfect with my computer.I do wish that the enclosure were closed off, so that dust wouldn’t get into the circuitboard. However, the size is nice and fits right on top of my desk. It was very easy to install, and although I was expecting there to be noise and popping whenever I would switch the outputs with the dial, I’ve not experienced that so far.The only problem that I have experienced is that sometimes the output tends to fade if I press too hard on one of the 3.5 mm output jacks, almost as if it’s not soldered on perfectly. Considering the price of the product and how well it solves my problem, I still consider myself a happy customer, and I would buy it again.

So I have a small system with one subwoofer but there are two different sources for the sub's single input. And, the two sources have different line levels. When streaming a movie there would be a 5.1 soundtrack with LFE so in that case I wanted to route that (w/ Y splitter) to the sub. OR, if the programming was in 2.0 stereo then I wanted to pick-off the R&L channel outputs and route them to the sub. And, be able to fix the level mismatch. So I look at this 2-In, 1-Out thingie and there's no enclosure, no shielding, it's totally passive with a passive volume control. Glad I took a chance b/c it simply works. 5-Stars

I've used a few of these fiberglass & acrylic devices and this one is the only that I've seen with 4 inputs and 4 outputs. If you're looking for something this specific, you already know the choices are limited. It's worth noting I had to pickup a buzz box for each input to work with this though. Upon plugging in the 2nd input device, a buzz was occurring and needed the buzz box to resolve that (~$8/ea). Once those arrived, I was able to route audio between two computers ending at either my desk speakers, or over to my headphones with two clicks of the dial.Quick info:Design: no idea why the dials are aligned the way they are, as the dials dont line up with each other. Maybe it's on purpose. Drives the OCD a little bit but does the job.Build quality: its a PCB and acrylic boards with relatively cheap knobs, but assembled pretty well all things considered. The PCB board is of pretty good quality tooAesthetics: you either like this sort of "open" design or you don't. I have it sitting next to a legato Wave XLR and StreamDeck which are very tidy and nice looking. With all the wires on the front and back, it's hard to have this just out and about and not want a little place for it. Suffice to say I'm working on a 3D printed enclosure for this thing because it's not the prettiest. But does it's job and does it well.

Purchased this because I needed to share a speaker system between my desktop PC and my Macbook Pro. Didn't expect much from a $7 device but I haven't had any issues in the few months that I've been using it. It's not without any flaws but the sound is fine. Turning up the volume knob to high can cause a buzzing noise. Turning the volume knob down and controlling the volume through Windows fixes that issue. My Macbook on the other hand gives up all volume controls when plugged into my dock and speakers. I can only use the knob on the splitter to control the volume. It may just be a MAC OS setting that I need to play more with. Although I appreciate good sound quality, I am no means an audiophile. For the everyday Joe, this splitter is easily a 5-star device due to its incredibly low price. I can't comment on the QC since I have only used one of these devices but it's been great for me so far.

Do not buy. Can not stress enough. I’m on my 2nd one and I should have learned my lesson the first time. Both times one of the RCA connectors fails. It’s super annoying.

I was hesitant buying this no-name splitter, as I have had bad experiences in the past with similarly cheap audio devices on Amazon. But this thing is doing its job, which is simply to route one of 3 stereo inputs to one stereo output. I am using it with two vintage cassette decks and an audiophile CD player and I can't hear any quality loss on my system after several A/B tests (I've got decent gear too including a Topping amp and Audioengine speakers). The splitter is passive, so there is no active signal from, for instance, a power supply or board capacitor, that would interfere with your analog signal. While it's certainly possible some of these units were made inconsistently, leading to the negative reviews, mine is fine, and it's also possible people are using low quality RCA cables or have inherently bad/defective RCA outs on their gear. Whatever the case may be, for the extremely low price, it's worth a purchase to see if it works in your audio system.

The bottom plate of this device is too frail and breaks off too easily. Yes, I should have known by its image, but it took using it to find out how frail the device really is.

Plug and play, no power supply necessary. It is so much easier to turn volume up and down on a PA System with this small controller than it is using the computer buttons and software controls. I run sound and announce for small gym and stadium events (high school sports) and I wish I had this knob a long time ago. The fact that I had to even look up this item tells you that something was wrong, but I found the solution! There are 1/8" inputs/outputs and can select one out of two inputs to control at a time while the other is muted. I use this for halftime shows and pep rallies when instructors want to plug their phone into the system for their teams music. I can keep my computer plugged in and playing music while they plug in at the same time. Then switch over to their input quietly and volume up/down their music with the knob. It keeps the noise of plugging in and out on the loudspeakers off the air.
