I ordered these with a little bit of skepticism about how well they would actually filter the water. By coincidence they arrived within a few days of my well pump needing to be replaced. As a result the water coming out of the well was orange in color and I'm sure was not safe to drink. However using these filters the water was clear and tasted great. From my point of view they did as good of a job as the original Berkey filters at a fraction of the price. I had no problems with the installation of these filters. They do process water a lot quicker than the original filters. But it doesn't seem to have affected the quality of the water I am getting.

They are the perfect size and they were also on sale so a great buy. I'll buy them again for sure but with how long they say they last, that might be a while away. The water is clean and clear, no odd flavors like plain sink water. This also saves on plastic and cost from buying bottled water.

I have been using this brand of filters for a while now. I did the normal priming before use.The water after filtering was worse than straight from my faucet. The water had an oily film and was full of a white flakey substance. I will give the company another chance and purchase again as I have never had a previous problem. This experience was not satisfactory.

After the submersion process, the filters had a little "taste" to them. That went away quickly. We have stored water in 2 liter plastic for at least two years. Due to the Texas cold snap, the water company ask everyone to curtail water usage. We did. We attempted to drink the old bottle water, but it tasted bad. Boiling didn't help (instant pot), and neither did just sitting for a day. We ran the odd tasting water through the filers and the water tasted fine. We were filtering water that was clear, but had a smell.

Only thing to keep in mind is the priming process, which I highly recommend looking up.

Arrived quickly. I followed the directions for installation on the box. Soaked them first and gently whiped the out side before placing them in my Berkey. Didn't have any problems with discolored water at all. They were very easy to install and my Husband likes the taste better. Great value for the money!
