It's coumarin and I'm happy with it. It's not tonka bean, if that's what you're looking for.
This comes as fine white powder that can be a bit clumpy. I mixed it with ethanol and set the bottle in hot tap water to get it into solution. If you make your solution too strong, it will crystallize out of solution.

I thought this product was edible.
I had been reading about the fantastic taste and smell of coumarin. When I received the powder, the first thing on the label was "poison," and then "danger, do not consume." That makes the product unuseable to me. I was going to make a coumarin-vanilla compound like I used to buy in Mexico. Such a nice vanilla flavor! Mexico has now prohibited this type of vanilla and you can only get "coumarin-free" vanilla.
