I bought this lamp base for my grandmother's ceramic Christmas tree that was missing the base. The tree that has the multi-color lights. I bought a bulb and this works perfect. The tree sits well on the round part of the base and the on/off switch is not far on the chord from the base. If you think a writing a review doesn't help, I bought this base because someone else wrote a review that she bought the base for her ceramic Christmas tree which is exactly what I needed it for and why I chose this one.

I wanted to put an Edison bulb into the socket with a decorative glass jar on top as an alternative to cramming battery-powered fairy lights into it all. If the base was wider and flatter, I would feel more confident.

It looks ugly (cheap and ordinary), plus it's expensive for the quality.
