JCD-05SM 8 oz Hydrogel Granules

This product contains some fertilizer, but mainly water absorbing granules. Don't use too much! Each crystal absorbs water and enlarges up to 30 times in volume. I use barely a pinch sprinkled in the bottom of my furrows, then push dirt over the crystals and place my plants atop that and cover the roots or seeds with additional soil. If you use more than a pinch, you'll have water globules pushing up out of the soil like water balloons! This product is excellent for soil that becomes dry and dusty at depths of over 4 inches. The granules will hold water in the bottom of the furrows and allow your roots to go deep & pick up needed micro-nutrients. I have a Degree in Agriculture from Penn State University.

They work very well to absorb and release water. I use them every summer for potted and in the ground plants.

The bag contain little crystals. By adding water you have soft bigger crystals. If you have hanging baskets that dry out quickly, this is the cure. The crystals hold moisture but eventually dry out. May be added to your container dry or wet as you are potting your flowers. I use them for the making cloth tubes for around your neck when it's hot. When not in use, placing in the refrigerator in a ziploc bag with some water creates a cool tube for use later. It's a good product. Lots of bang for the buck.

Easy to use and helps keep plants happy

I have flower pots of all sizes on my deck and around the garden. We have been having excessive drought over the years. These hold more water at the root that help save your plants if you can’t get to them right away in a hot spell. I”ve been using this for years.

THIS HAS FERTILIZER IN IT , if I had know that I wouldn’t have purchased it, my bad for not reading carefully! Still I had it before without anything else in it.

We have a large (super large) pot with a rose bush in it and it drains so well that the rose wasn’t getting enough water. I used a kitchen spoon handle to poke holes in the soil around the plant and a small funnel and poured several lines of this in. Within 2 days the rose was perky and happy. A local nursery recommended the sheets of this for my hot full sun planters and then I found this here since she didn’t have this version.

I have used this for years. Saves my plants over the winter, I always forget to water them.
