Good mill for hobby/garage use.
I'm new to machining, that being said this seems to be a nice quality mill for the price. I've only milled a few things so far, but have been satisfied with the results so far. The T-Slots on the table are 12mm wide so I had to machine down the T-Nuts in the 1/2" strap clamp set I purchased. (No surprise I knew this before I bought it. Good first project.) I'm currently in the process of installing a 3 axis DRO to simplify manual machining. I plan to eventually upgrade to CNC control, but I'm happy so far with just manual control. Due to belt drive the running noise is very low. (until you start making chips) I chose this instead of G0704 due to the belt drive, but never having owned one I have nothing bad to say about it. Happy milling :)

All in all nice and tight
I finished unpacking my new Mill yesterday and it seems to be a solid well made mill. It is very quit with the belt drive which is one of the reasons I chose it over its competitors. The only thing I came across I thought I should mention is the T slots say they are 1/2 ",but I bought the 1/2 HHip clamping kit and they don't fit. Just a tad too big. I am going to figure that out today. All in all nice and tight.

Great mill, Lousey U.P.S delivery
With about 2 weeks usage on the p.m.25mv I have concluded that it was a good choice. The extra money is apparent in the quality of the machine. The fit and finish is as good as any quality U.S. machines I've used in the past. The 1h.p. d.c. motor is powerful enough to do what I expect and the speed control does a good job of keeping the setpoint under varying loads. The unit is extremely quiet. You can barely hear it if not cutting. They have made some recent changes on the model I received. Apparently in response to complaints about the drawbar having a small head. The new ones are as large as the outside dimension of the bar. They forgot to enlarge the hole in the cap nut to accommodate the larger head but a few minuets on the lathe cured this error. The shipping using U.P.S. freight was another matter all together. Having paid the extra $45 for residential tailgate delivery I was expecting it to actually be delivered to my house. I live in the sierra foothills off the main road at the end of a 1/2-mile private road. (As good as or better than the county road). They planned to show up with an 80-foot semi and refuse to drive the last 1/2-mile to the house. They won't go on a driveway. Curbside delivery only I was told. There isn't any curb or shoulder either. They would have to drop a 500 lb box in the middle of the road on a blind curve. I told them that was unacceptable. If that is the smallest truck available for home delivery then they are in the wrong business. I arranged to pick it up at the terminal in will call instead. The will call was ready when I got there and quickly loaded it in my truck. I would suggest that route if you use UPS. When I asked about a refund of the $45 they said I would have to get that from the shipper. I'm still waiting for that.

Great baseline for low-end CNC conversion
I just finished converting my new PM25-MV to CNC operation. Wonderful machine, perfect size and capacity for the home-shop-machinist. No, it's not as stable or strong as a knee mill, but if you watch your cut depth and speeds this milling machine performs really well. Having taken it apart and seen the innards, I am pleased with the quality of the ways and just about every aspect.A few problems that I've had to overcome:1. The spindle lock is non-existent. I created an add-on to make it easier.2. There are no provisions in the spindle control box for remote control, but I was able to at least turn the spindle on/off remotely with a small mod to the electronics.3. The way covers are too bulky, particularly the z-axis. It gets in the way of the full Y-motion. I removed the z-axis cover and created my own pull down window-shade version. Works well, and other than my labor cost about $20.4. The spindle motor is a bit anemic, only 3/4 hp. I wish it was stronger. Also at top speed you only get 2500rpm. Too slow. All that being said, I found the CNC conversion quite easy (I used parts from ArizonaVideo99 plus electronics from elsewhere). My final cost for the full-up machine, including DRO was around $4k.All in all a very good value, much better than the Grizzly G0704. Recommend.

works great
I bought mine from Quality Machine earlier this year. This machine has been able to do everything I've asked of it- mostly milling mild steel and aluminum. The only issue I've had was that I had to shim the column (I think I used 0.007" shim stock) to correct the y-axis tram. The table travel feels like oiled glass, though the table will sag a bit if run to the extremes of the x-axis.

Pm 25mv
I have one of these. Bought it used. It is a belt drive. A bit better than the grizzly machine. Base castings are common but PM puts their own spin on it. I am glad I bought the PM machine. Converted it to cnc with a controller kit from automation technology, and hardware from arizonavideo99 on youtube. Very happy with the results so far.

and runs great. It gets used often
Purchased Direct with QMT about a year ago. Its a capable machine to say the least. It's very well built, and runs great. It gets used often, and has been holding up very well. DC motor and belt drive it easy on the ears, and I have asked it to do things better suited to a full size Bridgeport. As long as the work pieces fit, and you have a bit of patience it will get the job done.
