These are my new favorite THING for changing how other things were made to operate.
FIRST! they work! that's important to state because there are a lot of PWM devices that make the claims that this one does that DON'T do what this one does! LOL did you enjoy that nonsensical word craft? Good. SIMPLY THIS: It controls the speed of most motorized devices, even rather powerful ones. I have used them to control the speed on things from belt and orbital sanders, drills, power saws, and then it gets impressive when it works just fine to speed control my 14" bandsaw, small drill press, table top oscillating belt sander, 48" Belt sander. angle grinder, etc.Ok, then I did NOT expect it but IT ACTUALLY does DIM my LED light bulbs! the cheap kind, not the expensive 'DIMABLE' specific LED light bulbs. I made a fixture with 5 light bulb sockets and a standard wall outlet plug. When I plugged the 5 LED bulb fixture into my little outlet box I made with the SCR High-power Electronic Voltage Regulator Module in it, when you turn it down it dims the LED light bulbs without them Strobing or fluttering. You don't seamless 100% down thru off dimming, you get more like 100% on then maybe a step down to about 70% and several more gradual dimming stages and depending on what brand of bulb, you may get COMPLETELY OFF or you may get something that is about 10% let on when it is turned all the way down. It is caused by slight leakage current. no big deal. That last 10% is what you're paying for when you pay $30 for a dimmer that goes smoothly from full to dark :-) And you can't use that type to slow down your Hand held orbital sander which goes way too darned fast in the first place. I use this device primarily for my Orbital Sander. Seriously-like 90% of the time. I could not live without it on that sander.

Not the specified current rating
The triac has part number TM883 which has current of 8A. It is NOT 25A.I don't need 25A plus the price is reasonable so I gave 3 stars.

Don’t waste your time and money
I tried many different maker of this same design. This time I ordered the five pack. Went through 3 different one. First one the heat sink got too hot and the Triac fill off, second one resistor burned out. Third one wouldn’t hold the same voltage from turned off stage back to turn on stage. This is not safe and a hazard. Returning this one and done with these concept design. This is not rated up to 25amp as marked
