Great easy to apply varnish
After 3 years of painting gaming minis I'm finally learning to use my wife's airbrush, and now I want to know where this varnish has been all my life. It's a great varnish that's super easy to apply, dries fast and clear, and doesn't stink up the house like my rattle can stuff. I haven't played with it enough to know how durable it is, but no paint has come off of anything yet.

Its easy to apply
Its easy to apply, either by airbrush, or by brush, and cleans easily. So in a nutshell this is a great product. It dries to a nice matt finish. I build scale modes (armor), and this is a great top coat. I highly recommend this product.

Good Stuff
I used some in a brush on application, and it dried clear and matte. I also applied using an airbrush with great results, again, it dried clear and matte. Definitely recommended over rattle cans.

I use this for sealing my D&D minis
It does exactly what I want it to do. It dries well with a nice soft finish. Highly recommend.

Not for Gaming Miniatures!
Always on the hunt for a less fumes alternative to Testors lacquer Dull/Glosscote Top Coat (the 1.75 fl oz bottle/jar versions) I purchased this AK Interactive varnish hoping it would be a good replacement for varnishing my gaming miniatures. Thinned to a 1:1 ratio, this matte varnish goes on smooth enough through my Iwata Eclipse, however, it never fully cures to a hard finish. There is a slight tack and stickyness to the applied surface area which makes it completely unacceptable for varnishing gaming miniatures. The whole idea of a varnish is to protect the model. This stuff is a magnet for dust and fingerprints. Come on AK Interactive, you guys surely know about this issue! Same problem with your satin varnish! Going back to my tried and true time tested Testors Dull and Gloss Coat. Aside from the fumes, Testors has been battle proven for decades. Buyer beware.

Great finish, but product had alot of clumps.
I am not sure what happend to this product, I recieved the bottle and it looked like spoiled milk. Thick clumps of all sizes and alot of them. I mixed the varnish throughly but although the clumping was less it was still did not remove them. Would not recommend this product as is but the issue may have to do with the age or the conditions while in storage, to hot maybe. Once you spend enough time mixing with a power mixer and adding thinner the finish is wonderful. One thing to note is that the label on this bottle is an older version of this product, this issue looks to be a vendor issue.

a Little misleading
I was looking for a matte varnish that was spray able thru my Air brush,This is a concentrate that is very thick and needs to be cut. I only used it once and it did nt work out the way I wanted it to, I purchased because the AK brand is very popular.

Didn’t make the cut...
I like how thin this varnish is. And although it dries matte, the surface is still smooth and carries a smooth shine finish. It’s just not matte enough on vinyl. This was after applying 4 or 5 coats of the varnish. I really wish it had more of a matte texture.
