Crescent Lufkin EX6 2-in-1 Extendable Layout Tool - LSSP6-07, 6"

This is a well-made square. I bought it because of the flip-up extension. Numbers and tick marks standout for easy reading. The flip-up extension has a snug fit at the hinge so when is flipped up, it is in-line with the base leg.

I got it as a gift for my brother, he loves tools and it has helped him out and he has used everyday for his job. his favorite thing to do with it, other than using for work, he to show it to his coworkers and and say "look! it's extendable!". it works as it should!

Has all the common features a standard square has. I love the fold out extension for when you're marking larger materials or even transferring a line. Good price and quality to be expected from the brand. Magnet keeps the fold out piece secure while it's not being used. Also doesn't seem to be any heavier than a standard square either.

I love this square and use it daily now. The flip-out mechanism is a little stiff, but better than having it flop out and get damaged when you don't want it to. It's easy to read and use, and works exactly like a square should. Overall I'm very happy with it.My one wish list item would be a small bubble level. Half the time I carry my torpedo it's only to level walls or fence posts, and a bubble level in my square would be more than accurate enough for that work. For whatever reason, this trend hasn't hit lower-prices squares. You have to spend $100 to get that, which is crazy for an add-on that probably costs a dollar for the part. And most of those squares don't have the extension, which I really like for stair and rafter layouts. I obviously chose "better but inexpensive square, separate torpedo level" for my bags but it would be nice to have the option here.

Well made and easy to read

The square is just what I wanted. I have a complaint to the manufacturer about the sticker on the square. I had difficulty removing the sticker and it damaged some of the painted scale but it is still very useable.

Used it for an entire house worth of drywall. It worked for the project but was slightly out of square so as long as I remembered that it made straight cuts.
