- BIRD WIRE POSTS - Our high-quality 316 stainless steel bird posts are specifically used to hold bird prevention wire above a specific area to prevent pigeons from landing. Posts are commonly installed to masonry and concrete ledges using anchor rivets included within the kit. This type of prevention is typically installed on the front elevation of buildings which provides a discreet method of bird control. USED BY PROFESSIONALS - Posts should be installed to the leading edges of ledges; this will discourage the pigeon from perching and push them to other locations, preferably away from the protection area. We include the necessary nylon UV-stabilised anchor rivets and drill bit for easy application. Additional accessories are required to complete a system; this consists of the wire, spring and crimps. POST SIZES REQUIRED - We offer several post sizes; however, only 115mm and 150mm are typically required. The height of the bird posts will be reduced to the recommended length of 90mm for the leading front row and 130mm for the rear rows. A drill and hammer are required for installation. Spacing of posts should be undertaken at 1.5m. WHAT IS A POST & WIRE SYSTEM - Commonly known as bird wire, this discreet prevention method stops pigeons from landing on building ledges, parapets, ridges, and fencing. A wire is installed 90mm to 130mm above the ground between 2 support posts. A spring allows for tension and flexibility, and crimps hold the entire system together. Bird wire is only suitable for perching sites and should not be used for roosting or nesting.
