JOOVY SPOON!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE My baby LOVES LOVES LOVES! So, I read all the warnings about walkers, and how the American Academy of Pediatrics wants to outlaw these devices. I also listened to my mother about how much I loved my walker and I talked to people...all of whom had used walkers as infants and many of whom used them for their kids before people got to negative about them. What to do? what to do? I went with my instincts. 1. I am not going to put the walker upstairs. I don't have other steps he can fall down. 2. We have multiple places we take him to to use this product and it folds flat and is easy to throw in the car. 3. I've got him gated away from the kitchen ( horror stories of burned babies pulling pots from the oven in a walker) and there aren't cords he can get to in his walker play area. 4. There is a question about hip development....I'm a surgeon. This isn't something we were taught about in medical school, or something that any physician I know (regardless of speciality) is even aware of. So, can it happen? Anything can happen. Can you leave your kid in here too long? sure. Do your own research and make an educated choice for your baby. I do not leave him in here for hours on end. He has the ability to sit down and his legs are at a normal sitting angle. If these are so bad why aren't there class action lawsuits about medical problems from walkers? I don't know any adult who've had hip problems related to being in a walker. The jury is out in my mind as to the health risks for the walker. A risk I am willing to take. 5. Toe walking? Who knows, everyone is looking for the perfect way to raise their baby and for someone to blame if something goes wrong. If you want to blame your walker...I have no argument to stop that. As for my guy...no toe walking to date. So, we've had the walker since three months old. He was initially barely able to touch the ground...he loved it. Bouncing, rocking, playing with toys. Once he could touch the ground he bounced and jumped and loved it more. Now he paddles all around feet on the ground and is happy as a lark. I put cheerios and toys on the tray. He loves it. Yes, he can move fast, so you have to be there to watch him! The tray is removable for easy cleaning. The spoon is portable for travel...an easy traveling high chair for feeding too! I did also get a Go Pod first. I was trying to be compliant to all the horror stories and get a stable station. My son will only stay there for a few minutes. At 3 months, he was much to small. At seven months, he is still fairly engulfed by the Go Pod. Maybe in a year he will be happy in there, but for now, the spoon is just his cup of tea. Although the Go Pod does keep him stationary long enough to get a shower. (Go Pod is also highly portable and well made if you are set on a stationary device) It is a clean design and the cloth can be removed (somewhat easily) for cleaning. I do not think there is any type of single or multiple wheel locking mechanism on this device. The edges are smooth so that when he knocks into things he does not hurt the furniture. It is sturdy but light-weight. I'm thinking of buying a few more just incase these do get outlawed so I can put my friends kids and grandkids in them some day. I love this walker but more importantly, my son does too!!

Fantastic. Wouldn’t change a thing.
I did a ton of research on these. I decided on this one and I’m so glad I did. My husband, who isn’t impressed by much, has commented more than a few times how great of a find this was. It’s sturdy, it’s easy to maneuver, it’s held up well with daily use, and the fabric on the seat is durable and of nice quality. I was initially hesitant about the blueberry color since we have a little girl, but I’m so happy I went with it- it’s absolutely beautiful and a nice, rich classy color. She started using it at about 6 months, and it was the catalyst to help her discover her independence. Now at 8 months old, she’s a pro and strolls (almost runs) around the house like a boss baby. Something about the style of this particular walker is just so stinkin’ cute. *What stands out the most about this walker is the size of the tray. It’s big. In fact, it’s just a little bigger than her arm span- which keeps her from grabbing everything off the coffee table and much much more. She tries really hard, too- but usually can’t reach things. This is a big deal! The tray also comes off for easy cleaning. I honestly can’t think of one thing I’d change about this walker. So grateful we found it!

Second Purchase for Another Infant
Excellent product!!! My 5 month old, granddaughter loves it even though she can't quite reach the floor. The height is adjustable, so she will be moving on her own soon. It is extremely easy to assemble. The wheels roll very well. It is very stable, and can be transported quickly from my house to my daughter's house without fuss. I believe we got a lot for our money with this one! I had already purchased one of these 4 years ago for a friend's baby, and it was highly appreciated.

Worth every penny.
*This review was Not prompted and I was Not promised anything in return for this review. I don’t even check the email account associated with my Amazon account. This review is after 1 month of [every day] use.* I cringed at the price of this walker. I did my “research” (read online reviews, watched videos- you name it) and concluded, this would be the perfect walker for our 8 month old. It was super easy to assemble, it’s easy to clean, and the tray is huge! We were concerned our daughter wouldn’t like it because there’s nothing on it; however, her jumper has all kinds of “stuff” and she has never cared about it. With the large tray, we can give her all of her favorite toys and things to play with. The tray is also great for suction cup toys! We have hardwoods throughout and the wheels grip like a champ! It turns perfectly as well. It doesn’t move at all on our carpet (which is only in the bedrooms, so it didn’t matter. We have medium-high pile). My baby has very chubby legs, so that was another reason we purchased this walker. I read so many reviews about other brands of baby walkers; those reviews stated the leg holes were too small and left red marks. The Joovy Spoon doesn’t do that! I really like the [Joovy] seat material; it’s durable and seems comfortable to our baby. Very easy to wash- just toss it in the washer (after first removing the cushion and plastic piece from the inside of the seat). We recently went out of town and my mother-in-law purchased our baby a Safety 1st walker. It took me forever to put the dang thing together. It was very narrow and small. I put my baby’s chunky thighs in it and they were squeezed. It was so cheap feeling, I thought she was gonna tip over. (She didn’t, but I was stressing). That walker made me appreciate and feel much better about purchasing the Joovy Spoon. We’ve had this walker for month now (delivered and started using it on May 20, 2019. Today’s date is June 22, 2019). It has been the best money spent! **Finding the correct “level” (height) was the only thing we had to figure out. Every baby is different, so it took some time. She started out on the middle setting (she’s 27 inches long). She’s now on the tallest setting because we’re wanting her to “walk” more, rather than use her feet to roll/slide around 😆. She’s comfortable and loves it.**

Great Walker, but needs more quality control
After reading the positive reviews and getting feedback answers to my questions from reviewers, I decided to order the Joovy Spoon Walker. Even though the reviews stated it was a large walker, when I received it I was still surprised at how large it really was which wasn't a problem because I do have the space for it. I ordered it in purple which is a deep, rich purple that could be used for a boy or a girl. The large tray is ideal for holding different toys each day. I love the removable plastic tray which is easy to clean, but more importantly suction toys adhere to it and don't come off easily even with a teething baby pulling on the toys. The seat is very padded and comfortable supporting the baby. The front part of the seat was very easy to install, but the back is another story. There are five plastic straps with clips on them. Getting the strap through the slot is not too difficult, but inserting the strap and the clip at the same time is a little more difficult and once you get both through the slot you have to twist the clip so it lies flat which secures the seat to the walker. This walker has three positions, but it is a guessing game trying to find the three positions because I never could find any mark showing the positions. The front wheels are very easy to pop into place. It is the back wheels that I have a problem with. These wheels are riveted on. One of my wheels spun easily like it should, but the other wheel wouldn't turn. Called Joovy Customer Service and I must say all the representatives are wonderful. I spoke with four of them over the course of several days. I told the first woman I talked to about my wheel problem and she gave my husband the OK to spray the wheel with silicone. It helped loosen the wheel some, but the walker had a tendency to want to go in a circle. Later I talked to a man and told him about the wheel still giving me trouble and that my husband said the wheel was riveted on too tight. My walker was also not level. One side was 1/4" lower than the other side. It was very noticeable when folded flat. He said he would send me out another walker. I requested that the walker be inspected first to be sure the wheels spun correctly and it was level. He said he woud make a notation about it. The new walker that came in was level, but the walker was not inspected as requested because this time both wheels wouldn't spin easily. My husband again sprayed with silicone. The wheels do not move as easily as they should, but this walker was better than the first walker I received. This would be a great walker if all wheels snapped on. If there is a problem with a snap on wheel it could easily be replaced. If something goes wrong with a permanently attached riveted wheel you might have a walker that is no longer useable. Evidently, the riveted wheels are not inspected closely enough which is really a shame. If you are lucky enough to get a walker with the back wheels spinning correctly you will be very satisfied with this walker. If you get a walker like the two that I received with wheels that have trouble turning, you and your baby will be a little disappointed and frustrated with your walker.

Nice but pricey
Just bought this walker for my daughter. She is only 9 months old and was showing signs of wanting to walk. Have to say it is great but pricey. Someone gave us a used walker, the kind you can buy at Target or Walmart, so I could compare the two side by side. The Joovy is definitely bigger and better quality. The tray is huge compared to the cheaper walker. You can place a lot of toys on the tray to entertain the kid, but it is very wide. Sometimes she gets pinned in the hallway trying to turn around. The front wheels swivel, but the rear wheels are in a fixed position just like the cheaper walker. This works OK until they can push themselves around well. Would be nice if the rear wheels swiveled but could be locked into a non-swivel position. Not really a fan of the color choices. We picked the purple one. The material of the seat looks high quality. We have mostly hardwood floors in our house. The walker works on the carpet, but she mostly use it on the hardwood floors. She can tell the difference between the carpet and the hardwood floors, so she mostly rides on the hardwood floors. Also, the seat/tray adjust just as high as the cheaper model. My kid is over 10 months now and she can almost stand up taller than I can raise the seat. Bottom line is it's nice but pricey. The tray is bigger (maybe too big if you have small apartment) and over all nicer looking than the cheaper models. But it does not adjust higher or roll any better than the cheaper models. My kid is going to grow out of this fast. So did I really need a $90 walker?

... with all that stuff on it are a huge waste of money
Raised two children with very similar one without all the bells and whistles attached to it and was a live in Nanny for a few years after mine were grown and I can tell you that the fancy bells and whistle ones with all that stuff on it are a huge waste of money. A child will quickly tire of the same old stuff resting in front of them and want something new to handle or look at. This product allows you to place an object in front of them one at a time like a plastic cup, some rattling measuring spoons, several cheerios etc while they are safely sitting up and touching the floor while you cook, do the dishes, vacuum in the same room etc. That is the only critical times when I used it and just kept it in the kitchen. It was wonderful. It can travel with you and you can feed them in it with easy clean up too. Children typically will learn to push around with one foot on a "hard floor" but not really walk in it, even though they are called walkers. But they are thrilled at sitting upright and learning that they have a tad of control over something while being in the same room with you while you are busy with something else, as long as you place interesting an safe objects in front of them that they can explore. This model I gave to my daughter for her first baby and she also received one with all the bells and whistles that she kept too for another room. She ended up liking this one far better and kept it in the kitchen. It is easy to clean and far more stream line to blend into the décor. The trick is to only use them during those must do chore times or while you are actually eating and not to abuse just placing your child in it all the time. Out of using with 4 children, none actually walked in it but slightly pushed around with one foot and this gets them up off the floor in a different perspective before they can walk and puts them in an upright position for looking around and exploring safe objects you put in front of them or zooming them through the hall like a carnival ride with you pushing them on occasion. They quickly learned that the high chair was for eating and this was for exploring new items placed in front of them or some occasional cheerios. It will not roll well on carpet but only hard floors and I found it wonderful to have in the kitchen. You may need to put a towel in front of their tummy to help prop them up if they are leaning forward before they are able to touch the ground with their feet if they have short legs. I highly recommend this.

Take the guards off - GAME CHANGER
I bought this walker because my gf had one for her busy baby, so I thought “why not? But does it go on carpet?” Half of our house is carpet. So I figured she can use it when I’m in the dining and kitchen area while I get things done. This walker is perfect!! It’s just big enough where my daughter can’t get into much bc the surroundings of the walker won’t let her reach. She can move faster than if she was crawling, higher off the ground and sees more which she loves, and I know where she’s at when she’s in it. Always. Assembly was a breeze. Barely needed the instructions (aka pictures). Now, when my daughter would try and go on the carpet it was a little rough considering the guards on the bottom were pretty close to the ground and wouldn’t allow it. In the beginning, it worked bc I could keep her in one area But after a while she got frustrated and wanted to explore. One day I decided to take the guards off and see if they were a part of the structure in keeping the walker together? THEY SURE DONT!!!!! I took those damn things off and she can ride EVERYWHERE! Over carpet, brick, hardwood to over rugs and thresholds! Game changer!! Now we’re running into another problem. Due to going over carpet, hair (my hair) has gotten all in the wheels and makes it harder for her to wheel around. I’m trying to see if I can get new wheels for it but if not I’m not worried. It’s worth it!! 100% best $90 I’ve spent on something for my kid thats lasted LONGER THAN 1 month. “Moms, can I get an AMEN!!” Trust me. Buy this!! Just vacuum more frequently than I do to get that hair Before Joovy does😉
