Dimensions wrong but great cart
I ordered model FG450500 of this cart. The cardboard box it came in has only the FG450500 model number printed on the outside. The box is custom made for the cart it contained. In other words, it wouldn't accommodate a wider cart than what was packed inside. But, the he cart inside is not the dimension described on Amazon's website (37-7/8" Length X 19-1/5" Width). The top and bottom shelves are actually 31" Length x 17" Width. If you include the handle, the overall length of the top is 38 5/8". The height of the top work surface is 32 1/16". The maximum height of the handle is 38".The product description says this cart has a "Lipped Top Shelf". It does not. I would call this a flat top with a shallow round-bottom drip groove inset 1" from the outside edge of the top. This drip groove looks like what you would have on a cutting board to help contain minor spills. It does look like the picture that I see on the website as of the time I write this review. But, of course, I can't be sure what picture you're looking at today...The bottom shelf does have a 1 7/8" high lip around its perimeter.Assembly instructions are printed on the one of the flaps of the cardboard container, so don't look for a separate instruction sheet.Assembly itself is straightforward. There is only one way to put the cart together and it's pretty obvious. You will need a rubber mallet and a #3 Phillips screwdriver to complete the assembly. Your wrist will get a good workout inserting the screws as they have to cut their own threads in the plastic as they're driven in. I used a Bosch 20502 impact driver to insert the screws and that worked well. The cart itself is lightweight yet sturdy with a solid feel. I feel pretty confident that it will serve well for it's intended use if you want a cart this size. Just keep in mind that what you'll get isn't what was described. Now I have to decide whether to keep it or not. I thought I was getting the wider card described. And unfortunately, I assembled the card before discovering the discrepancy in the width. Because the uprights are hammered into sockets in the top and bottom shelves I suspect it will require some effort to disassemble it.

very useful and possibly the best cart on the market
I have two of these carts at work, and they are incredibly useful. They are very strong and nearly indestructible. I did manage to crack the top on one by dropping a heavy shaft on it when it slipped off the crane. I regularly use these carts for hauling 40 lb salt bags across the plant for the water softeners, as many as 8 bags or more at a time. The top doubles as mobile work surface and the bottom makes a great place to store tools and material. Finally after seven years, I bought one for myself to use at home. I prefer putting the swivel wheels on the front, for easier turning. The only advantage for putting them on the back, is for turning with a heavy load, but even with 8 bags of salt, I still prefer them on the front. Being plastic, they carts never rust, no peeling paint and they seem to last forever. But that is what you expect from Rubbermaid, worth every penny and no regrets. They seem to be better built than their competitors, and maybe a bit more expensive, but they sell well because of their reputation for quality. I prefer products that I only have to buy once.

Rubbermaid tough!
I love Rubbermaid products. I bought my first trash can in 1990 and still have it. its cracked from abuse but I still use it out back. so, this product was my top pick and I am very glad to see, Rubbermaid still makes great products. easy to assemble (the directions are on the box flap) I am using mine to haul my ceramic kiln shelves and furnishings around on. you need the shelves close by to load then you need to move the rest away to fire. this solves the issue.it moves easily and with little effort. a locking wheel might be a nice touch ,but i can always swap wheels later if it is needed. I was surprised the wheels work so good, they look sort of underweight for it, but they hold up the heavy load i have on them. i am already redesigning the cart to better suit my needs, and so glad it has all those options for this.I would recommend this. would like a second one for my studio in the basement..... its just very handy and very stable.as always, i update my reviews as i use an item. so come on back and see what i think in a year.

Easy to assemble -- just follow the pictures on the box flap
I see a lot of complaints -- like no instructions, need a drill, hard to get the top on., put wheels wrongFirst there are pictorial assembly instruction on the box flap. Picture no words.A power screwdriver is nice and you will need a rubber mallet (no hammer please)Fist you add the legs, they are labeled A and B. Screw them down -- use a set of fixed on one end and rotating on the other. Do one end and then the other, stand it up put the top on loosely. NOTE fixed wheels to the front and turning one to the handle side. Push down on it or lightly tap it with a RUBBER mallet.Tip it over on the front. Check to make sure the end is in the channel with no spacing to the leg. Tap again. Repeat on other side. Stand to normal position and use a rubber mallet again to make sure the top is fully seated. Turn on to side and put one screw into each leg.Done in 20 minutes. Biggest headache was finding my rubber mallet.Looks sturdy. Well packaged,

Standard cart on jobsites, medium Harvest Right freeze dryer
Works fine but does sag a bit in the middle, the non flat top carts of this type are sturdier, it turns out. About a half inch droop in the middle (dryer by the handles facing to the right with the vacuum pump at the front of the flat top cart, and it tilts slightly towards the left). This is the flat top cart, what I think the add called medium size. I shimmed it but better would be a 25"X36.5" sheet of plywood on top, 1". Or a middle support underneath but that makes that space less usable. I would probably go with a stainless steel cart on wheels if I had to do it over, there about the same price range.
