fun to read
The Summer House in Santorini: A wonderfully uplifting romance for the perfect holiday escape is by Samantha Parks. When I chose this book, I was just looking for pure escapism and fun reading of an exotic new vacation spot. I didn’t realize I was going to get such a wonderful story of lasting love despite such unparalleled odds.Anna Linton had just had her heart broken when she saw her boss/boyfriend making love with another woman in the window of his Manhattan apartment. It brought back the night her Mother threw her Father out of their lives for his cheating. She had him deported and all custody of his children taken from him. The next morning, her sister called telling her that their Father had left them a house in Santorini which they had to claim in person and she couldn’t get away from the farm. Reluctantly, Anna went to work knowing she would see Marcus and not knowing what to do about the inheritance. At work, she was rebuked for coming in late and had a fight with Marcus over his “friend”. She then told him she was taking three weeks vacation and would send in her two weeks notice while she was gone. She then found herself on a plane to Santorini. When she got to Santorini, she was met by a man who worked for her Grandfather, whom she had never met, and he had her walking to the bus which they missed and then walked to the resort her Grandfather was working on. All the time having her carry her luggage in the sweltering heat. So much for a wonderful welcome to Santorini. As if that wasn’t enough, when she checked her email, she had been fired before she could turn in her notice. Her day certainly wasn’t off on a good start. What she didn’t know was that it would get worse before it got better. It is definitely a great escape novel and so much fun to read. Anna has to deal with the abandonment by her Father, not knowing her own grandparents, a rude worker, a messed up house she inherited, as well as her dwindling bank account. All this for an inheritance she wasn’t sure she and her sister even wanted!

Enchanting and Enjoyable Romance
The “Summer House in Santorini” is the perfect book for putting aside your everyday worries for just a few moments. The lead character Anna finds herself stuck in a job she really doesn’t want and a boyfriend/boss who cheated. Just when all her dreams come crashing down, an unexpected inheritance and opportunity presents itself. She and her sister have inherited a small house on the island of Santorini. One stipulation is that she or her sister must go to Santorini in order to claim the inheritance. Ann reluctantly goes with the intention of selling the house as quickly as possible. As we all know the best laid plans seldom turn out like we thought they would. This is a story about finding true love, romance, a sense of purpose and family. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. Thank you Samantha Parks; can’t wait for your next book!

Easy reading, predictable but what a location...beautiful Santorini
Cute story, I bought it because I love Santorini...I skipped some parts and took off two stars because it is never necessary, to me, to ever use the "f" word in any book, and several times, let alone in a book like this. So disappointed in the author for that reason.

well done
I am actually not much on reading anything other than murder mystries or Sci-Fi. This book pulled me to read the sample because the photo was beautiful and the story seemed a quick, easy read. I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a good story and the author gave a good description of scenery without over use and kept the story interesting. For a thriller junkie thats hard to do in a book with no action! It could have used a bit more humor but for a first book it was extremely well done.

The perfect holiday read
Enchanting romance on the idyllic Greek island of Santorini. I missed visiting many years ago on my island hopping trip due to bad weather, so it was delightful to be immersed in the island in this book. A perfect summer read, relaxing by a pool. Excellent escapism to the homes, streets, and beaches of Santorini. Definitely left wanting more, and was delighted to discover there is a follow up coming in 2023.

Fun read!
This is a charming romance set in a beautiful place. It's a feel good read that is perfect for a summer day. The author has fleshed out believable and faceted characters that draw you in and make you want to read to the end. The descriptions of Santorini are so lovely it makes you want to book some tickets and fly there tomorrow. The style of writing is very pleasing and the flow of the story makes for a very enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to see more from this author!

Summer House in Santorini
I chose this book because of the setting in Santorini. Romance novels just don't appeal to me but the Greek culture does. I found myself skipping through the "romance" pages but hanging on to descriptions of the island and it's people. To me the calculation between selling the summer house or keeping it was way overboard for a 25 year old female who lives in New York. Make up your mind and just do it. Try plan B if it doesn't work. That could've been the author's character development but it's not the usual New Yorker mold. Overall, it was a quick read and added to my knowledge of the Greek Isle.
